Namjoon stepped out of the bathroom, his hair slightly damp, the towel lazily thrown over his shoulder. He couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight of Jin sitting on the corner of the large sofa in their balcony, his legs crossed, and the impatience written all over his face. His curiosity was palpable.

Namjoon smirked and approached him, settling beside Jin on the cushioned seat. This time, he was shirtless, enjoying the way the night breeze felt against his skin. Jin turned to face him immediately, his eyes filled with anticipation.

“I’ll tell you the story,” Namjoon began, his deep voice soothing. But then he paused and leaned in closer, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “But first, you have to answer something for me. Do my lips actually taste like chocolate?”

Jin’s face flushed a deep red, and he shyly nodded. Namjoon blinked, utterly shocked. “Wait...what? Seriously?”

Jin fidgeted and mumbled, “What do you think would’ve been the other reason I didn’t say anything when you stole my first kiss?”

Namjoon sat there, wide-eyed, taking it in. He didn’t expect that. He really didn’t expect that. Jin, growing impatient again, nudged Namjoon’s shoulder and said, “Okay, okay! Stop getting off track! Tell me the story already, and then we can talk about everything else.”

Namjoon chuckled, placing his head in Jin’s lap, feeling the soft, familiar comfort of his presence. Jin instinctively started running his fingers through Namjoon’s hair, calming both of them as Namjoon spoke again, this time settling into the past.

“Alright, so...flashback time.”

---

It was Namjoon’s first night in the city after moving into his new apartment. After arranging everything in place, he decided he needed some fresh air. The park nearby seemed like the perfect spot to unwind, a little escape before his new roommate arrived.

Meanwhile, Min Yoongi was on his way back from the park, his headphones blasting music as he walked home. The two collided at the entrance to the park, neither aware of what the other looked like. They knew they were going to have roommates named Yoongi and Namjoon, but they didn’t know who was who.

As Yoongi walked into Namjoon, he grumbled in his usual, savage tone, “Hey, can’t you see?”

Namjoon glanced at Yoongi and immediately misjudged him. With Yoongi’s casual street clothes and slightly smaller frame, Namjoon thought he was dealing with a high schooler trying to act tough.

Namjoon sighed, rolling his eyes. “Hey, kid. Can’t you see yourself? Shouldn’t you be at home right now? Where are your elders? It’s late, and if you show up late for school tomorrow, your teachers will scold you.”

Yoongi’s eyebrow twitched at being called a kid. Namjoon, oblivious, reached into his pocket and pulled out some cash. “Here, buy some candies on your way home. Maybe they’ll help you behave better.”

Yoongi stared at him, absolutely dumbfounded. Did this giant really just offer me candy money?!

“Uh, excuse me, you tall but brainless creature, I’m not a kid!” Yoongi snapped, glaring at Namjoon.

Namjoon just shrugged. “Yeah, yeah. That’s what every teenager says. What class are you in? High school? You look like a stray kitten lost at night.”

Yoongi clenched his fists, trying to control his growing frustration. This was the first time someone had treated him like a kid, and it was infuriating.

“Listen, you oversized giant,” Yoongi growled, “I. Am. Not. A. Kid!”

Namjoon waved him off, still not taking him seriously. “Alright, alright. Fine. But you look like one, and that’s enough. If you don’t remember your way home, I can take you to the police station. They can help.”

That was it. Yoongi had enough. “Screw this,” Yoongi spat, shoving his headphones back on. “Such weird people these days.”

Namjoon, still thinking Yoongi was some sassy kid, shrugged it off and headed to the park.

---

Later, when Yoongi finally returned to his apartment, he was eager to meet his new roommate. His lonely side secretly hoped for a friend. After a while, Namjoon arrived, ready to settle in. But as soon as they locked eyes, both froze in shock.

“You’re Kim Namjoon?” Yoongi asked, eyes narrowing.

Namjoon nodded slowly. “Yeah...and you’re Min Yoongi?”

Yoongi’s face darkened, his already pissed-off expression intensifying. Without another word, Yoongi grabbed his guitar and immediately started chasing Namjoon around the apartment, swinging the guitar in his attempt to knock some sense into him.

Namjoon bolted, running for his life while shouting apologies. “I’m sorry! I didn’t know! Please! Not the guitar!”

After what felt like an eternity of running, the two finally collapsed onto the couch in the living area, out of breath and laughing hysterically at the ridiculousness of their first meeting.

“I thought you were a high school kid!” Namjoon wheezed between laughs.

“And I thought you were just another annoying giant!” Yoongi chuckled, shaking his head.

They sat there, both still giggling, realizing that despite their rocky start, this was the beginning of something interesting.

Back in the present, Namjoon finished his story, still lying in Jin’s lap. Jin smiled down at him, fingers gently combing through his hair.

“That was quite the first meeting,” Jin said softly, amusement dancing in his eyes.

Namjoon grinned, closing his eyes. “Yeah. It was.”

As Jin continued to stroke Namjoon’s hair, Namjoon’s voice softened. “And by the way...we’ll revisit that chocolate lips thing later.”
