Lucas pulled out his phone, snapping a photo of Dk tied up in the chair. He smirked, sending it off with a quick message before turning back to Dk. "This should get your boyfriend's attention," he said, a wicked gleam in his eyes.
Meanwhile, Joshua was in their house unsteady and thinking where Dk might be when his phone buzzed. He glanced down and his heart dropped at the sight of the image on the screen. Dk looked terrified, bound and helpless.
"No! Dk!" he shouted, the world around him narrowing to the panic in his chest. He immediately called Dk's phone, but it went straight to voicemail. Frantically, he dialed Lucas's number, his hands shaking.
"Pick up, pick up!" Joshua urged, pacing in their living room. The call rang several times before going to voicemail.
"Lucas!" Joshua shouted into the phone, his voice laced with fury. "You better answer me! What have you done to him?"
But there was only silence on the other end. He slammed his fist against the wall, his heart racing with anger and fear. "This isn't a game! I swear, if you hurt him-"
Lucas's voice suddenly cut through the silence of Joshua's thoughts, but it was only a text notification. Joshua looked down, seeing another message flash on his screen.
"Find him yourself. You'll need to move quickly. Time's running out."
"Damn it!" Joshua shouted, adrenaline surging through him. He rushed into his car and threw the car into gear, his mind racing. "I'll find you, Dk. I promise."
With determination set in his eyes, he sped away, focusing on tracking down Lucas and saving Dk before it was too late.
Joshua parked outside the warehouse, heart racing as he dialed Mingyu. "I'm here. I need backup now!" he said urgently.
"Hold on, I'm on my way. Don't do anything reckless!" Mingyu replied, but Joshua had already hung up, determination coursing through him.
Inside, Lucas smirked at Dk, gesturing to his henchmen. "Let's make this quick. Teach him a lesson!"
"Please, don't hurt me!" Dk pleaded, fear evident in his voice.
The henchmen advanced menacingly, fists raised. "Just a little welcome party for you," one sneered.
Suddenly, the warehouse door slammed open. Joshua burst in, eyes blazing. "Get away from him!" he shouted, ready to fight.
Lucas laughed, stepping back. "Look who decided to join us! Let's see how brave you really are."
"Let Dk go, Lucas!" Joshua demanded, fists clenched at his sides.
"Make a move, then. But you'll regret it," Lucas taunted, clearly enjoying the tension as he signaled his men to prepare for an attack.
Dk's heart raced as he shouted, "Joshua, please! Be careful!" Joshua's presence filled him with hope, but he knew the danger was far from over.
Joshua and Lucas stood locked in a tense standoff, the air thick with hostility. "You'll never win, Lucas. This cycle of revenge ends here," Joshua declared, his voice firm.
"Spare me your moral high ground, Joshua," Lucas shot back, a sneer on his lips. "You think you can save him? You're too late."
But before Joshua could respond, the distant wail of sirens filled the air, growing louder by the second. Joshua's heart raced as he glanced toward the entrance.
"Police!" a voice shouted, and the warehouse doors swung open as officers burst in, guns drawn.
"Get on the ground! Now!" one officer commanded, moving swiftly toward Lucas and his henchmen.
