Woozi huddled under the waiting shed, shaking droplets from his hair. He glanced at the coffee and bread in his hands, feeling a mix of frustration and concern.
He muttered to himself, "Great timing, huh? Just when I wanted to surprise him..."
A couple of minutes passed, and he sighed, looking out at the relentless downpour. Just then, his phone buzzed in his pocket. It was a text from Hoshi.
Hoshi: Baby, you okay? You got home yet?
Woozi quickly typed back, trying to sound casual.
Woozi: Yeah, just finished up at work, and went to grab something at the café. Waiting for the rain to stop.
Hoshi's response came almost instantly.
Hoshi: Rain? Are you stuck somewhere?
Woozi chuckled softly, glancing around the shelter. "Sort of. Just at a bus stop, but it's coming down hard."
Hoshi: You should've called me! I would've come to get you.
Woozi: Nah, you've had a long day. I didn't want to bother you.
Hoshi: You're never a bother babe! Just stay safe, okay? How long do you think it'll last?
Woozi looked at the sky, the dark clouds swirling ominously. "Not sure. I might just have to brave it soon."
Hoshi: Just wait a bit. I can leave work early if it's really bad.
Woozi smiled at Hoshi's concern. "It's really sweet of you, but I'll be fine. Just a little rain."
Hoshi: Still, I worry. Just text me when you're on the bus, okay?
Woozi: Will do. Love you babe.
Hoshi: Love you too. Stay warm!
Woozi tucked his phone away, glancing at the still pouring rain. He took a deep breath, his heart warmed by Hoshi's words despite the chill around him.
Woozi rubbed his arms to stave off the cold, looking around at the empty street. The rain showed no signs of letting up, and the wait was starting to feel endless. Just as he began to consider calling a cab, his phone buzzed again.
Hoshi: Hey, still there? How's it going?
Woozi quickly typed back, trying to mask his discomfort.
Woozi: Still waiting. It's been over an hour, and no buses. I'm kind of cold.
Hoshi: What? You should've told me! I'm coming to get you.
Woozi: Really, it's okay. I can handle it.
Hoshi: You shouldn't have to! I'm already on my way, I just finished my work.
Woozi felt warmth spread through him, but also a hint of guilt. "You don't have to do that. It's just rain."
Hoshi: You're shivering, aren't you? Just stay put. I'll be there soon.
Woozi looked up at the rain, feeling helpless but grateful. "Okay. Just... don't rush too much. I'd hate for you to get caught in traffic."
Hoshi: No worries. I'll text you when I'm close. Just hang in there.
He tucked his phone away, biting his lip as he watched the rain continue to fall. Despite the chill, a smile crept onto his face at the thought of Hoshi's determination. He took a deep breath, focusing on the anticipation of seeing his boyfriend soon.
Hoshi pulled up to the waiting shed and quickly jumped out, clutching the umbrella tightly. As he approached, his heart sank at the sight of Woozi shivering, his shoulders hunched against the cold.
