In the world of K-pop, where every member of a group shines as a star, Seungkwan from Seventeen was known for his vibrant personality and powerful vocals. However, behind the dazzling performances and the infectious energy, Seungkwan was facing a private struggle that threatened not only his health but also his place within the group.
It started subtly. A few unkind comments here and there, complaints about his appearance in online forums, and harsh critiques in the media. At first, Seungkwan brushed off these remarks with his characteristic charm and humor. But the negativity began to seep in, affecting not just his confidence but his well-being.
Their manager, always vigilant about the group's image, had been receiving increasing pressure from fans and critics alike. Determined to address the issue, the manager decided to implement a strict diet plan for Seungkwan, believing it would help curb the backlash. The plan was severe: no carbohydrates, only two meals a day, and minimal caloric intake. It was supposed to be a solution, but it was one that came with dangerous consequences.
Seungkwan, though hesitant, complied with the manager's demands. He didn't want to let his members down or appear to be a burden. And so, he began his regimented routine: bland meals, long hours of practice, and an ever-growing sense of fatigue. The diet was taking a toll on him, making him weaker day by day. Yet, he kept his struggles to himself, wearing a brave face whenever he was with his group.
Seventeen's practice sessions were known for their intensity. The choreography was intricate, and the routines were rigorous. On this particular day, the studio was abuzz with energy as the group prepared for their upcoming performance. Seungkwan, despite his exhaustion, gave his all. The dance moves were sharp, the synchronization perfect, but Seungkwan's usual vitality was missing.
As they practiced the latest routine, a demanding sequence that required a lot of energy and agility, Seungkwan struggled to keep up. His legs felt like lead, his breathing was labored, but he pushed through, driven by the desire not to disappoint his members.
The routine reached its climax-a high-energy segment with fast footwork and spinning movements. Seungkwan, trying to match the pace, felt a wave of dizziness overcome him. His vision blurred, and his body felt like it was betraying him. In the middle of a spin, he collapsed, crumpling to the floor.
The studio fell silent. The members, initially caught off guard by the abrupt stop in the music, rushed to Seungkwan's side. The once lively practice space was now filled with concern and panic. Joshua, the first to reach him, knelt beside him, shaking his shoulder gently.
"Seungkwan! Seungkwan, wake up!" Joshua's voice was frantic.
The other members gathered around, their faces etched with worry. Woozi and Hoshi quickly went to find the manager, while DK, the group's lead vocalist and Seungkwan's closest friend, checked Seungkwan's pulse.
"What happened to him?" asked Jeonghan, his voice trembling.
"He... he just collapsed," Joshua said, his eyes wide with fear.
Jeonghan's gaze met DK's, his expression shifting from shock to anger. "This isn't right. He's been so off lately. Why didn't we notice?"
"We've been so focused on the upcoming performance," DK replied, his voice strained. "I thought he was just tired. I didn't realize..."
As they waited for help, the studio was filled with anxious murmurs. The manager finally arrived, and the situation quickly escalated. Seungkwan was rushed to the hospital, where doctors immediately began their examination.
While Seungkwan was being treated, the members remained in the waiting room, their frustration simmering. They couldn't understand why their usually energetic and upbeat friend had collapsed so suddenly. It wasn't until they were finally able to speak with Seungkwan's doctor that the truth began to unravel.
