The heavy mansion doors creaked open fully, and the pairs and trio reluctantly stepped inside, one group at a time. The air was damp, and the faint sound of the wind whistled through broken windows. Each step echoed ominously, amplifying the tension.
Seungkwan clutched Seungcheol's arm as they headed into the main hallway. "Hyung, do you hear that? It sounds like footsteps!"
Seungcheol glanced at him, unimpressed. "It's just the wind. Stay close and stop panicking."
Mingyu and Joshua, heading toward the west wing, were whispering nervously. "Hyung, what if the ghosts are in this part of the house?" Mingyu asked, his voice trembling.
Joshua laughed softly. "Then you'll block them with your height. You're like a human shield."
Jeonghan and Minghao were quieter as they entered the east wing. Jeonghan shined his flashlight on the peeling wallpaper. "This place looks like it hasn't been touched in decades. It's kind of cool."
Minghao kept his eyes on their surroundings. "It'd be cooler if there weren't people dressed as ghosts ready to chase us."
Jun and Woozi were slowly making their way upstairs. Jun hummed softly, trying to lighten the mood. "Do you think one of the keys will be under a bed? That's so cliché."
Woozi grimaced. "Let's hope not. I'm not crawling under any beds."
In the basement, Hoshi clung to DK as they followed Wonwoo. "Hyung, why are you walking so confidently? Aren't you scared?"
Wonwoo shined his flashlight down a dark corridor. "Not really. It's just a game."
DK pointed to a shadow in the corner. "What about that?!" he whispered loudly.
Wonwoo turned the light on it-it was just a pile of old furniture. "Relax. Save your energy for when the staff actually shows up."
Meanwhile, Dino and Vernon climbed the creaky stairs leading to the attic. Dino flinched with every step. "Hyung, this is a terrible idea. What if the attic is where the ghosts start?"
Vernon smirked, shining his flashlight ahead. "Then we'll find the key first and leave before they get us."
"That's way too optimistic for this situation!" Dino hissed, glancing nervously at the shadows.
The signal suddenly echoed through the mansion-a loud, metallic clang-marking the start of the 30 minutes. Everyone froze in place, their flashlights shaking slightly as they realized the game had officially begun.
The mansion echoed with the sound of hurried footsteps, muffled voices, and the occasional creak of old wood as the groups searched for the keys. With only one key left to find, the tension was palpable.
Seungkwan held the small key they'd just found tightly in his hand. "Hyung, we found one! Can we go back now? Please?"
Seungcheol gave him a stern look. "We need to make sure the others find theirs too. Stop being dramatic."
Seungkwan sighed, glancing nervously at the dark hallway. "Easy for you to say when you're not the one feeling like something's watching us!"
"Nothing's watching us. It's just the atmosphere. Stay focused."
Mingyu beamed as he held up a rusty key they'd discovered in an old cabinet. "Hyung! Look! We did it!"
Joshua smiled, patting Mingyu on the back. "Good job. See? Told you we'd find it."
"Yeah, but... why do I feel like something bad's about to happen?" Mingyu muttered, glancing nervously at the door. "You know how in horror movies, things go wrong when you're about to win?"
