The sound of the commotion drew the attention of the other members, who rushed to the office door, concern etched on their faces. "What happened?" Joshua asked, peering in.
"Dk got hurt," Seungcheol replied, his voice steady but urgent. "I need to take a look at his leg."
Dk, still in Dino's embrace, nodded but felt a wave of panic wash over him. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..." he gasped, tears streaming down his cheeks. The pain throbbed intensely, and he squeezed Dino tighter, trying to ground himself.
"Hey, it's okay, hyung," Dino whispered, rubbing his back gently. "You're not alone. We're here."
As Seungcheol gently raised Dk's pant leg, the room fell silent. Gasps filled the air as the members caught sight of the bruising covering Dk's leg-dark purples and reds contrasted sharply against his skin. It was worse than they had imagined.
"Dk..." Woozi murmured, his eyes wide in shock. "What happened?"
"I-I didn't think it was that bad..." Dk stammered, his breath hitching as he struggled to hold back sobs. The sight of his own leg was overwhelming, and the pain was becoming too much to bear.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Seungcheol's voice was softer now, a mix of concern and frustration. "This looks serious."
"I thought I could handle it!" Dk cried, tears flowing freely now. "I'm so sorry for lying! I didn't want to worry anyone!"
"Worrying is better than this," Seungcheol said firmly, but his tone softened as he looked at Dk's tear-streaked face. "You don't have to apologize. We just want you to be okay."
Dino held him tighter, whispering words of comfort as Dk's gasps for air grew more frantic. "I can't... Hyung... I'm so scared," he admitted, his voice trembling.
"Just breathe, Dk. We're here," Joshua said, stepping closer. "We'll get you help. You're not alone in this."
Seungcheol nodded, glancing at the others. "Let's get him to the hospital. We can't wait any longer."
"Can you walk?" Hoshi asked gently.
"I'll help him," Mingyu said, moving to support Dk as he slowly stood up. The pain shot through him again, and he winced but took a shaky step forward, leaning heavily on Mingyu.
"Stay close," Seungcheol instructed as they all moved toward the door, the atmosphere thick with concern. "We'll get through this together, okay?"
Dk nodded, feeling the warmth of his friends surrounding him, their support giving him a sliver of comfort as they made their way out of the office and toward the van. He knew he had to face whatever came next, but with them by his side, he felt a little less afraid.
The van ride to the hospital was filled with a tense silence, the only sounds being Dk's occasional sobs and the reassuring murmurs from his friends. Mingyu kept his arms wrapped around Dk, holding him close as if he could shield him from the pain and fear.
"Just focus on your breathing, Dk," Mingyu whispered, gently rubbing Dk's back. "You're going to be okay. We're almost there."
Dk leaned against Mingyu, exhaustion washing over him. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to worry everyone," he managed to choke out between breaths. The reality of the situation began to settle in, and he felt the weight of their concern bearing down on him.
"You don't need to apologize," Seungcheol said from the front seat, glancing back at them. "We're just glad you're getting help now. That's what matters."
"But I should have said something sooner," Dk replied, his voice shaky. "I thought I could handle it."
"Sometimes we all need a little help, Dk," Woozi added softly. "It's okay to admit when things are too much."
