A soft breeze swept through the streets of Seoul as DK strolled toward the practice room, a bright grin lighting up his face. The city was bustling, but DK, or Dokyeom as his family still called him, radiated an energy that could make even the most hurried passerby smile.
The Seventeen dorm was unusually quiet that morning, and DK, ever the ball of sunshine, decided he'd make it his mission to lift the spirits of his members.
Entering the practice room, he found Joshua and Jeonghan lounging on the floor, fiddling with their phones. The sight of their tired expressions instantly activated DK's playful mode.
"Good morning, my lovely hyungs!" he sang, extending the note with theatrical flair. He spun dramatically into the room, clutching an imaginary microphone.
Joshua looked up, stifling a laugh. "Morning, Broadway star. What's gotten into you today?"
DK dropped to his knees in mock despair, placing his hand over his chest. "Why, hyung, I am merely a vessel for joy! And it pains me to see you both so...lifeless."
Jeonghan rolled his eyes but couldn't hide his smirk. "You're such a dork, DK. What do you want us to do? Sing and dance at 9 a.m.?"
DK gasped in mock horror. "Hyung, it's never too early for singing and dancing! Let's warm up those vocals! Joshua hyung, Jeonghan hyung, let's harmonize!"
The two older members exchanged a glance, unable to resist DK's infectious energy. With exaggerated groans, they stood up, and soon, their voices filled the room with an impromptu rendition of one of their ballads.
As the rest of the members trickled into the practice room, they were greeted by the trio's enthusiastic performance. Mingyu was the first to join in, followed by Hoshi, who immediately began choreographing on the spot.
"DK, you're insane," Hoshi said, laughing as he mimicked a ridiculous dance move DK had just invented.
"Insanely fun!" DK replied, twirling dramatically. "Now, everyone, let's start the day with positive energy! Seungkwan, you too! No excuses!"
Seungkwan groaned from the doorway, holding a coffee cup. "It's way too early for this. Can't you take a break from being cheerful for once?"
DK pouted, clutching his chest like he'd been wounded. "Seungkwan-ah, your words cut deeper than a broken mic. But fear not! I shall convert your grumpiness into happiness!"
Before Seungkwan could respond, DK darted toward him, pulling him into a dance. "Everyone, join us! Let's get this energy flowing!"
The room quickly turned into chaos, with laughter echoing as the members joined in. Even the usually reserved Jun couldn't help but crack a smile as he watched DK's over-the-top antics.
Between the laughter and singing, Woozi walked in, holding his laptop. "What's going on here? We're supposed to be practicing for the new album!"
DK immediately ran to him, dramatically pretending to bow down to their genius producer. "Woozi hyung, our musical overlord! Grant us your blessing to have five more minutes of fun before we dive into practice!"
Woozi sighed, shaking his head, but the corners of his lips twitched upward. "Fine. Five minutes. Then, it's back to work."
DK jumped up, cheering. "See? Even Woozi hyung can't resist my charm!"
The practice room was alive with energy, and for a moment, the stress of upcoming schedules and performances seemed to melt away. DK's laughter was like a magnet, pulling everyone together and reminding them why they worked so hard as a team.
After their little warm-up session, the group finally settled into practice mode. As the music started, DK's playful demeanor shifted into something focused and precise. He might have been the group's sunshine, but his passion for their craft was equally undeniable.
