The sun peeked through the curtains as Wonwoo stirred awake. Today was the day. His heart raced with excitement at the thought of finally taking out the motorbike Seungcheol had gifted him for his birthday. He jumped out of bed, quickly changing into a snug shirt, a sleek leather jacket, and a pair of jeans. He laced up his boots, the leather creaking slightly as he moved.
After grabbing his helmet, he made his way to the living room, where Seungcheol was already lounging on the couch, scrolling through his phone.
"Hyung!" Wonwoo called, a grin spreading across his face. "Are you awake?"
Seungcheol looked up, blinking sleepily. "What's up? You look... ready for an adventure."
"Sort of!" Wonwoo replied, trying to contain his excitement. "I was thinking of taking the bike out today. Can I?"
Seungcheol raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "You mean my precious birthday gift? Are you sure you can handle it?"
Wonwoo rolled his eyes, but the grin didn't fade. "I'm not a kid anymore, you know. I've been practicing."
"Practicing? Like how you 'practiced' baking that cake last week?" Seungcheol shot back, his voice laced with playful sarcasm.
"Okay, fair point," Wonwoo admitted, chuckling. "But I promise I'll be careful! I just want to ride around the city, feel the wind in my hair. Please?"
Seungcheol leaned back, pretending to think it over. "Hmm... I don't know. What if you get lost? Or worse, what if you crash?"
"Hyung, I won't crash," Wonwoo insisted, his tone firm. "I'll be careful. Plus, I've got my phone with me. I'll stay connected."
Seungcheol sighed dramatically. "Fine! But only if you promise to text me every hour. And if I hear even a whisper of you speeding, I'll come after you."
Wonwoo laughed, relieved. "Deal! You'll hear from me, I swear. Thanks, hyung!"
"Just be safe, okay?" Seungcheol added, his expression softening as he saw the excitement in Wonwoo's eyes. "And remember, don't push it."
"Got it! I'll be back before you know it!" Wonwoo said, heading toward the door, the thrill of freedom already pulsing through him.
As he stepped outside, he took a deep breath, inhaling the crisp morning air. Today was going to be unforgettable.
Wonwoo revved the engine of the bike, feeling the power beneath him as he pulled away from the dorm. The city buzzed with life, and the morning sun warmed his face. He couldn't help but smile, the wind whipping through his hair as he maneuvered through the streets.
After a short ride, he pulled into his family's driveway, the familiar sight of their home bringing a wave of nostalgia. He parked the bike, took off his helmet, and walked toward the front door, heart racing with anticipation.
As he stepped inside, the scent of something savory wafted through the air. His father was in the kitchen, busy at work, while his younger brother, lounged on the couch, flipping through channels.
"Hyung!" his brother exclaimed, jumping up. "You actually came! Nice bike!"
"Thanks! It's a gift from Seungcheol hyung," Wonwoo said, a hint of pride in his voice as he scratched the back of his neck.
His dog bounded over, tail wagging furiously. "Hey, princess!" Wonwoo knelt down to scratch behind his dog's ears, laughter bubbling up as the dog licked his face.
"Don't let her slobber all over you!" their father called from the kitchen, a grin on his face. "You know she has no manners."
"Hey, she just missed me," Wonwoo retorted playfully. "Right, princess?"
