Friday was Bai Xiying's discharge day.

However, before she left, a few visitors arrived in her hospital room.

They were Bai Xiying's roommates, coming to see her.

As soon as Lin Xingzhu encountered them, she received several few angry glares.

She shrugged and kindly stepped aside to give them space.

Inside the room, once the others had left, one of Bai Xiying's roommates, Fang Xiaotong, couldn't help but ask worriedly, "Xiying, are you okay?"

The others looked at her with concern.

Bai Xiying withdrew her gaze from these familiar yet unfamiliar faces, her lips curling into a familiar smile. "I'm fine, you don't need to worry."

Fang Xiaotong seemed anxious. "How can we not worry? You don't know what the rumors are like outside!"

She stomped her foot, displeased with Bai Xiying's indifferent attitude.

Everyone knew what kind of person Lin Xingzhu was, and now the rumors were rampant. While others might be unaware, Fang Xiaotong and the others had a vague understanding of what had happened that day.

A glimmer of interest flashed in Bai Xiying's eyes.

Such things hadn't happened in her previous life, and she didn't know the extent of the rumors. But after experiencing so much, she could imagine.

She seems to have had a second life?~

"Many people know?" Bai Xiying asked, appearing genuinely curious.

Fang Xiaotong nodded, her expression grim. "But don't worry, the number isn't too large."

After all, they had graduated and gone their separate ways, so the rumors circulated only within a limited circle.

Bai Xiying pondered this.

Seeing the concerned expressions of her long-unseen roommates, she smiled and reassured them, easing their worries.

Once they left, however, the smile on Bai Xiying's face instantly faded, her eyes turning cold and indifferent, completely unlike the warm friend she had just hosted.

Lin Xingzhu doubted her eyes.

By the time she blinked again, that momentary visual image had vanished.

Lin Xingzhu leaned against the doorframe, watching as Bai Xiying packed her things. She asked kindly, "Do you want to eat lunch before you go?"

Bai Xiying replied, "No need."

Lin Xingzhu didn't press further. She crossed her arms and stood quietly by the door, waiting for Bai Xiying to finish gathering her things.

There wasn't much to pack, the most significant items being the few outfits Lin Xingzhu had bought for her.

After all, after a week in the hospital, the white dress Bai Xiying had worn upon arrival was in tatters, so Lin Xingzhu had bought her several outfits in a standard size.

On the day of her discharge, Bai Xiying wore a white waist-length dress adorned with bright red cherries. From Lin Xingzhu's angle, she could clearly see the slight curve of Bai Xiying's waist as she bent down.

For a moment, Lin Xingzhu couldn't help but think of the various characters from the original story, and an inappropriate thought crossed her mind: Could that waist really handle it?
