Warm hands were held tightly in a palm, and Bai Xiying stood beside Lin Xingzhu with a smile.

Lin Xingzhu was quite eager to learn, easily picking up on things. Before they entered, she had already intertwined her fingers with Bai Xiying's, just like they had done in front of the Lin family home before.

—Only this time, it was Lin Xingzhu who took the initiative.

In fact, Lin Xingzhu wasn't very familiar with the host of today's celebration. She had only heard that the person was quite capable and skilled.

In her past, Lin Xingzhu would never have had the chance to interact with someone like her—despite both being heirs.

As Lin Xingzhu led Bai Xiying to their seats, they quietly exchanged gossip.

"I heard Su Weiruo and her wife have been childhood sweethearts, in a long-term relationship for ten years."

"Ten years?" Bai Xiying exclaimed. "But Miss Su is only 25 now."

If they've been together for ten years, that means they started dating when they were just 15.

Lin Xingzhu's expression suddenly turned peculiar. "But I heard that even though they've been in a long-term relationship for ten years, Miss Su only married after turning 18, and they were apart for a few years in between..."

Calculating that, it seems like they counted the relationship from the moment they fell for each other.

Lin Xingzhu had caught some key phrases from a conversation she overheard, such as "chasing after a wife in the crematorium."

With this in mind, today's wedding felt even more hard-won.

Bai Xiying had thought of that too.

She looked at the wedding photos displayed among the floral arrangements. The couple in the photos wore bright smiles, their genuine joy evident, making it clear how happy they were together.

Bai Xiying seemed to ponder something and lowered her eyes. "It's great when lovers finally get together."

Life is long yet short, full of surprises. Finding someone to love and marrying them is a wonderful thing.

Thinking of this, Bai Xiying lost her appetite for the little cake Lin Xingzhu had set in front of her.

Strange; she usually loved sweets.

Lin Xingzhu didn't notice her distraction and exclaimed softly when she spotted a familiar face.

It was Shang Zengrou.

Shang Zengrou didn't realize Lin Xingzhu was watching her. She was engaged in a lively conversation: "Is that place really as amazing as you say?"

The person opposite her replied meaningfully, "Of course. If it weren't for our good relationship, I wouldn't tell you this."

Shang Zengrou felt an itch of curiosity.
