When Bai Xiying saw Xie Yunya's cousin, who hadn't appeared in her previous life, she already sensed something was off.

Adding to her previous speculations from her interactions with Xie Yunya, Bai Xiying asked someone to investigate some unusual entertainment venues in City A.

It was clear that if someone had the ability to run such an establishment and it involved some gray areas, the forces behind it wouldn't be simple.

Naturally, those people didn't uncover much either.

The next day at work, Lin Xingzhu noticed that Bai Xiying had been pressing her lips together, remaining silent. Her usually bright and fair expression had darkened a bit, as if she were deep in thought.

Lin Xingzhu tapped the steering wheel and asked, "What are you thinking about?"

Bai Xiying smiled faintly, but it didn't lighten the furrow in her brow. "My intuition has proven true; it seems something has really happened to Senior Xie."

Lin Xingzhu was taken aback. They had just been chatting normally yesterday, and now this morning she was saying something had happened.

Bai Xiying briefly explained the situation.

This morning, when Bai Xiying got up, she received the investigation results about Xie Yunya's disappearance.

The other party said Xie Yunya had gone missing the night before last, on the Sunday evening when she and Lin Xingzhu had argued and then reconciled.

Apparently, around eleven o'clock that night, Xie Yunya had left alone to go to a nearby pharmacy to buy some fever medicine for her aunt, but she never returned.

Lin Xingzhu's eyes widened in surprise. She and Bai Xiying exchanged glances, both astonished.

In fact, that night, when Xie Yunya had said goodbye to her cousin's friends and returned home, it was already quite late. Normally, since they had already gone home, Xie Yunya shouldn't have gone out again, especially since her leg hadn't fully healed.

But who knew? Accidents come unannounced.

That night, Xie Yunya had gone out to buy medicine.

"Why didn't her cousin, a perfectly healthy man, go out instead?" Lin Xingzhu frowned, puzzled.

Bai Xiying wasn't surprised: "Sometimes seniors take care of others this way."

Lin Xingzhu: "..."

Why did that sound like such an understanding remark?

She couldn't help but cast a faint glance at Bai Xiying.
