The atmosphere was a bit strange.

It had been strange since Bai Xiying greeted her.

Bai Xiying swallowed the soup in her spoon without tasting it, feeling a bit irritated.

She really didn't understand Lin Xingzhu.

Wasn't it just a refusal of soy milk and porridge? Did she really have to stay angry for a whole week?

It had been a long time since she had been treated with such indifference.

And the soup was terrible; if it weren't for Lin Xingzhu, she would have left long ago.

Bai Xiying expressionlessly scooped another spoonful of soup from the porcelain bowl and poured it into her mouth..

After calming the feelings that had momentarily surged within her, Lin Xingzhu finally looked up at the person across from her. "Do you like this soup?"

She saw that Bai Xiying had been drinking it spoonful by spoonful, and it was quickly nearing the bottom.

But from her expression, it was hard to tell whether she liked it or not. Lin Xingzhu decided to break the silence and ask.

Bai Xiying glanced down at the nearly empty bowl, paused for a moment, and then said, "It's not bad," with practiced indifference.

Oh, so that means she doesn't like it.

Lin Xingzhu withdrew her gaze and leisurely enjoyed her own meal.

Having interacted with Bai Xiying for a while, she knew how Bai Xiying reacted when faced with food she loved.

When she ate something she adored, her face wouldn't show much movement, but her eyes would subtly curve into a small arc, like a well-fed cat comfortably enjoying its food, exuding a silent aura of relaxation.

Unlike now, where she seemed to be chewing on dry wax.

Disliking something yet pretending otherwise? She deserved it.

Taking advantage of Lin Xingzhu's moment of distraction, Bai Xiying shot her a glare.

She felt her mood darken even more.

Whenever she was in a bad mood, Bai Xiying wanted to stir trouble.

Putting down her spoon, she wiped her lips, feeling the salty greasiness fade somewhat, and finally spoke up.

"Lin Xingzhu, why aren't you talking?"

Here we go again.

That voice, sweet like a hook.

This time, Lin Xingzhu didn't show any change in her expression. After finishing the last sip, she said flatly, "One shouldn't talk while eating."

Bai Xiying: "..." You never used to be like this.

Fortunately, Lin Xingzhu seemed to have eaten her fill and was in the mood to chat.

Casually, Lin Xingzhu asked, "How's work?"
