This thought flickered through Lin Xingzhu's mind, but she didn't delve deeper.

Yet, it ultimately left a mark in her heart.

As she chatted with Bai Xiying, she watched her pinch off piece after piece of ice cream to eat.

When only four or five pieces were left, Bai Xiying got up to find a clean container, carefully packing the remaining ice cream before placing it in the fridge.

Lin Xingzhu sensed a lingering reluctance in her movements.

She gazed at Bai Xiying, her tone calm but imbued with an undeniable warmth: "If you like it, I'll make it for you often in the future."

Bai Xiying turned, her satin skirt trailing like a blooming flower.

"Lin Xingzhu, you're so wonderful," she said softly, her eyes filled with emotion.

"..."

Lin Xingzhu found it hard to withstand the look of adoration in Bai Xiying's eyes; it made her mind race, even giving rise to other, more extravagant hopes.

Today, Bai Xiying seemed to possess an indescribable allure, every move captivating and pulling at Lin Xingzhu's heart.

A glance at the fridge revealed a familiar packaging in front of Bai Xiying.

The low-quality cream didn't taste good, but it was cheap. The fact that the store used such cream meant that their customer base wouldn't include people like Bai Xiying and Lin Xingzhu.

Thus, the package in the fridge stood out against the other items.

"If you like it, I'll make it for you whenever I have time. It doesn't take much effort," Lin Xingzhu said with a casual falsehood. "So, you should try to eat less of that stuff you buy on the street; too much of it isn't good for your health."

Lin Xingzhu didn't say it outright, but she believed Bai Xiying understood whom she was referring to.

She knew Bai Xiying wasn't drawn to those items for their low prices; she just wanted to indulge in their excessive sweetness.

So, Lin Xingzhu added, "I'll make sure to prepare you more sweet treats in the future."

At the very least, what she made herself, from selecting the ingredients to the final product, would guarantee quality.

She couldn't abruptly cut off Bai Xiying's preferences, forcing her to abandon overly sweet things. Instead, she had to take it upon herself to ensure Bai Xiying's health.

Bai Xiying didn't argue: "Okay."

Watching Lin Xingzhu seriously express her tender concern made her heart flutter with sweetness.

She had found something sweeter than any dessert.
