Chu Xiaxia didn't hide her annoyance as she shot a few glares at Lin Xingzhu, who was sitting too close to Bai Xiying. She then leaned toward Bai Xiying and sweetly asked, "Sister Bai, where are you headed now? Can I go with you?"

Bai Xiying looked at her. "Aren't you going with your friends?"

Chu Xiaxia, seemingly oblivious to Bai Xiying's polite refusal, replied excitedly, "They can go on their own; we just happened to run into each other!"

The few friends that Chu Xiaxia had just "happened" to run into were standing a bit far off, but they clearly heard her words. They exchanged knowing glances, instantly understanding one another.

After a few whispered conversations, they greeted Chu Xiaxia and left.

Lin Xingzhu crossed her arms, looking at the little girl. "How does Miss Chu plan to come with us?"

Chu Xiaxia confidently said, "By car!"

She reached out to link her arm with Bai Xiying's, but just as Bai Xiying bent down to pick something up, their movements missed each other. Chu Xiaxia pouted, feeling a bit embarrassed, and reluctantly dropped her hand.

"Cough," Lin Xingzhu smiled. "Is that so?"

As Bai Xiying stood upright, a hint of realization flashed across her brows, and a smile tugged at her lips.

Bai Xiying played along, saying to Chu Xiaxia, "Then we'll head off first. If you want to follow, just walk behind us."

The surprise came so suddenly that Chu Xiaxia's eyes lit up.

"Great, great!"

But as Chu Xiaxia watched Lin Xingzhu and Bai Xiying drive away, her excitement faded into shock.

Why didn't Sister Bai take her along?

And what about her car?

The car in the back.

Lin Xingzhu and Bai Xiying exchanged amused glances.

Just before the girls left, Lin Xingzhu had keenly overheard a few words. It turned out Chu Xiaxia had a falling out with her family, which was why she came to the wedding with her friends. Since she let them leave first, her car had naturally left with them.

So, the situation was that Chu Xiaxia's car wasn't there. If Lin Xingzhu didn't take her, she had no way to go with them.

"Miss Lin has an impressive sense of hearing," Bai Xiying teased, clearing her throat.

Lin Xingzhu glanced at her. "You're not so bad yourself."

She hadn't even hinted to Bai Xiying, yet they were so perfectly in sync, which pleasantly surprised Lin Xingzhu.

She knew Bai Xiying was always a fantastic actress; she could probably win an Oscar with just a few days in the industry. But this was different. Previously, Lin Xingzhu had realized Bai Xiying's acting skills because she was performing for her, making it more impactful as the person involved.
