She looked at Lin Xingzhu suspiciously.

Because of that glance, Lin Xingzhu, who was about to open the car door, suddenly froze.

"Is there something wrong with what I said?"

Lin Xingzhu recalled carefully; she remembered the original story mentioned this design competition, and that Bai Xiying had participated.

The reason she remembered this detail so clearly was that she had only read the plot after the competition concluded before dropping the story.

At that time, she had picked the book randomly to pass the time, not expecting to stumble upon a light novel. The plot was painfully sparse, mostly filled with various side stories. The romance was enticing but also overwhelming, and the author's heavy-handedness made Lin Xingzhu feel a bit put off, leading her to abandon it.

Bai Xiying smiled and asked, "Is it that your company has someone signed up?"

Lin Xingzhu was surprised by the question, but she thought for a moment and replied honestly, "I don't know."

Fearing that Bai Xiying might think she was being dismissive, she added, "No one would tell me about these things anyway."

In fact, it was unlikely that any employee would proactively discuss this with their boss.

"Oh, I see."

Bai Xiying nodded with a smile.

If no one would tell her, then she must have learned about the design competition on her own.

The original Lin Xingzhu was somewhat clueless—she was adept at enjoying life but never took the initiative to learn about such matters. Moreover, since she wasn't in the industry, she would certainly not pay attention to the ASHY Design Competition.

She lightly tapped the seat, and the fleeting doubt vanished.

"I'm just curious that you'd pay attention to these things," Bai Xiying said softly.

In the distance, a car drove in, its high beams shining from the north, illuminating the area for a brief moment before it returned to darkness.

However, that brief moment of light made Bai Xiying's expression clearly visible.

Lin Xingzhu's thoughts shifted silently for a second, and she raised her head casually, "Of course, even though I'm an outsider, you're not."

"With a friend in the industry, it's natural that I'd pay attention," she shrugged, showing no reservations.

Upon hearing this, Bai Xiying's eyes curved in a smile, leaving her unsure whether to believe it.

They had been in the underground parking for too long; it was time to head up.

Lin Xingzhu and Bai Xiying walked side by side, the faint light from somewhere illuminating their path, so they didn't need to turn on any additional lights.

Just as they were about to exit, Lin Xingzhu suddenly heard a vague moan.
