After a week

It had been a long day of shopping, and the sky was beginning to turn orange as the sun set in the distance. Virat, with his arms full of bags, followed Anushka down the bustling streets, Ved was walking after a tiring day as he held Anushka's hand . They had been on a spree all day -- clothes, toys, home décor.

Virat didn’t mind the shopping, even though he was exhausted. Anushka looked happy, and that made him happy. Besides, he was carrying everything, while Anushka tried to carry one small bag. Every time she insisted, he would brush her off with a chuckle.

“You’ve done enough today, Anu. I’ve got this,” he said, not giving her the bags no matter how much she tried to take them. Even Ved, who was barely able to walk, was clinging to a small bag in his hand, insisting he was “helping.”

As they were making their way home, Anushka’s eyes fell on a jewelry store with a window display full of sparkling necklaces and earrings. Something caught her eye - something beautiful and elegant. She tugged on Virat’s arm excitedly, her face lighting up.

“Virat, wait! Look at that!” she said, her eyes wide as she pointed toward the window.Virat stopped and glanced at the store.

It was getting late, and they had already been walking for hours. He had been hoping they could head home, especially with Ved falling asleep on his shoulder, but the excitement on Anushka’s face made it hard for him to say no.

“Anu, it’s already evening. Haven’t you walked enough today?” he asked gently, a teasing smile playing on his lips. She pouted, giving him that adorable look that always made him weak.

“But it looks so pretty! Please, just five minutes. I promise I’ll be quick,” she pleaded, squeezing his hand. Virat sighed, knowing he had lost the battle before it even started.

"Noo...I want to go home! My legs are painingg" Ved whined and pulled Anushka's hand to walk.

"Please Virat" she requested once again. Virat carried Ved and decided to go in anyways.

“Alright, alright. Let’s go,” he said with a soft chuckle, shifting Ved higher on his shoulder as they made their way into the jewelry shop.

As they entered, Anushka’s eyes sparkled even more as she browsed through the dazzling necklaces on display. Virat stood with her for a while, watching as she carefully examined each piece.

"Hats off to the women who love shopping" Virat commented randomly.

"And why is that?"  She furrowed her eyebrows.

"You all have unwavering stamina, My knees are giving up" he said as he tried to shake off his legs. She chuckled.

"Why don't you go and sit there. There will be some chair" she pointed to the corner. But he stood there for some more time.

But after a few minutes, his feet started to ache, and he found a chair in the corner to sit down. Ved was already fast asleep on his shoulder, and Virat felt his own energy waning.

He watched Anushka from a distance as she compared two necklaces, holding them both up to her neck and staring at the price tags with furrowed brows.

There was something different in her expression - hesitation, maybe even worry. He could see her glancing at her phone, checking something, and then back to the price tag. Virat’s brows knitted together in curiosity. What was going on?
