Post-match Presentation
Interviewer - how is your heartbeat right now, Virat, because ours is pretty fast. What are the emotions going around in the team to have finally done this.
Virat - firstly, the heartbeats are on a marathon. And I have no words to describe the feeling of winning this title after such a long time, I've been here since the inception of the IPL. It will take time to sink in. Boys had really worked hard, they deserve every bit of it. Not just this season, all the other seasons , all the people who were involved at different points, I would want to thank all of them.
Interviewer : It was a cliffhanger isn't it?. Not as smooth as you would've wanted, it went right down the wire.
Virat : Surely, it was a great game. DC gave a tough fight, we knew it wasn't going to be easy. They were a formidable side coming into this match, they already beat us in the first qualifier. So we knew we had to cash in on those small moments of the game. And it went down till the last ball. Very little to separate between both the sides' efforts and I'm relieved that we are on the right side of the line.
Interviewer: What about this crowd, Virat. Their unwavering support, no matter what the result, they come out in thousands to watch the match.
Virat : Priceless, We didn't have a single title, we had disappointed them a lot, but their support has been constant throughout these years. Probably the main reason why I still stuck with this franchise is because if they can stay loyal , why can't I? Their support has been instrumental in this victory. This is for you guys, love you all.
Interviewer: What about your dear friend AB? He has been with you for longer time compared to others. You guys have seen a lot.
Virat : Absolutely, AB deserves this, he has saved us from a lot of matches which went out of the hands, yet we couldn't win it for him. So today , we present him with this. And Faf , Maxi , DK all of them, they were the senior guys in the team who have always supported me in all the decisions, thanks a lot guys. And the other boys as well, each and everyone contributed to this. The coaches, the support staff all played their roles. Lastly, special mention to my wife, who's here today. If I'm standing here, right now , victoriously, it's all because of her. The mental strength she has given me is absolutely priceless. And our son, who was more involved than me in this game, love you Vedy.
Interviewer: Beautiful. I won't keep you waiting for longer, because the trophy has already made you wait for years.
Virat : Yeah..I have a lot of complaints. Gonna have a long chat, man to man with the trophy after this.. Thank you.

Virat invited AB to collect the trophy with him. AB refused, but others pushed him.

Virat handed over the trophy to the youngsters in the team and the confetti and crackers blew off in the background to form a picture perfect image which had remained a distant dream for millions.
