After 2 days.

Virat wanted to do something special for her. The days had been heavy and filled with grief. He longed to see her smile again, if only for a little while.

So he took her to the farmhouse which they visited during the first date. Hoping that it would remind her of the simpler times and make her forget the overwhelming world around her.

"Aap bolo tho pasta banaau" he reminded her of the first date when he made pasta for her. She gave a light smile .

"Nhi Virat, I'm not hungry" she denied it calmly.

"Ok..koi baat nhi. We'll have something else. You want your favourite cake?" He asked her.

"Nhi Virat. Seriously - I don't want anything" she replied hesitantly.

"Then come, we'll walk around the property. Do you remember that river behind? We'll go and sit there" He held her hand and walked her through the grassy trail which took them to the river.

They sat on the Pier near the river. The air was cool and fresh. There was an awkward silence between them, as she was not initiating any conversation and he wanted to give her time.

As the evening breeze brushed past them, he pulled her closer. Wrapping his arms around her shoulder. She leaned closer to him and laid her head on his shoulder as she closed her eyes.

"I feel so empty Virat. I feel like something is missing inside me" she muttered. Virat's face scrunched in grief, but he made it straight immediately.

"That's because you didn't have anything. No more excuses, we are going to have icecream while we go back" he changed the topic.

"And this is not for you, I'm feeling hungry yaar. I want to eat something. First I thought I'll have pasta with you, you denied it. Then I thought I'll get to eat cake, you denied that as well. Mein tho bhooka reh gaya. Now I won't allow you to deny the icecream" he pointed with his finger as if he was scolding her. She gave a smile.

"But you don't eat icecream" she reminded him.

"I won the last match, so a little cheating tho Banta hai" he winked at her.

Suddenly there was a honking noise behind them. When Anushka turned around, there was a huge icecream truck which drove by to the river. She had her mouth open looking at that. She turned to Virat in astonishment.

He wiggled his eyebrows, she got up and quickly walked near the truck. She was a huge sucker of icecreams. There was no flavour in this world she hasn't tasted.

She went and stood infront of it like a school child who saw a icecream truck. Virat walked near her and nudged her with the shoulder.

"Is there only icecream?" She asked him. He turned to her dramatically.

"Till now, you were denying everything. Now you want more than icecream!? By the way, Vodka nhi milega han" Virat mocked her. She hit him playfully and went to get the icecream pantry.

"Poora mat khana . Spare something for me" he commented.

"I'll eat it completely " she laughed at him. He adored her.

And for the first time in what felt like ages, she laughed. A genuine laugh which made his heart swell. For a few hours, it was just two of them , sharing icecream and memories like old buddies.
