"Indiana. Get up." A voice shook Indiana from her sleep. Indiana opened her eyes to see her mother standing over her. "Your late for school."
Indiana glanced to window seeing it was still dark. Her eyes then moved to the clock beside her bed. "Mom, it's two in the morning." Indiana rubbed her eyes. Her mothers eyes shot to the clock.
"Oh. Sorry, Indie." She spoke before stumbling back out of the room. Indiana shut her eyes before falling back asleep.
She rode to school with Steve perusal. As they parked Steve waited for Indiana before walking into the school. "I'm having some people over tonight, you should come." Steve spoke.
"I don't know, I don't feel like partying while one of the boys I babysit is missing." Indiana sighed. Steve stopped and grabbed her shoulder. "Please." He asked.
She couldn't say no to the boy. "Yeah, I'll be there." Her blue eyes bored into his. Steve's eyes flickered to the blonde's pink lips for a second before returning them to her blue orbs.
Steve had been in love with his best friend since the seventh grade, when his crush developed. He thought she would never get with him so he never played into his feelings.
Instead he disguised them and turned to other girls. Both were oblivious to each other's feelings.
The two walked into the school and found Tommy and Carol. Steve befriended the two in middle school. Ever since Indiana was forced to be friends with them as well. She didn't hate them, but if she had a choice she would be as far away as possible from the two.
Steve saw Nancy and her friend Barb and walked up behind the girls. He took the study cards from Barb as Tommy wet his finger and shoved it in Barb's ear. Her hand shot up to her ear disgusted.
Indiana walked up the group. "I think you've studied enough, Nance." Steve glanced down at the cards. Indiana leaned against the wall beside Carol.
She felt Barb's eyes on her so she met them with a small smile.
"Steve—" Nancy tried taking the cards back.
"I'm telling you, you know, you got this. Don't worry. Now, on to more important matters. My dad has left town on a conference and my mom's gone with him, - 'cause, you know, she doesn't trust him." Steve smirks.
"Good call." Tommy chuckles. Indiana rolls her eyes. "So are you in?" Steve asks.
"In for what?" Nancy looks at everyone confused. "No parents? Big house?" Carol hints.
"A party?" Nancy finally catches on. "Ding, ding, ding!" Indiana laughs. Nancy smiles shyly.
"It's Tuesday." She states confused. "It's Tuesday! Oh, my God." Tommy mocks. Indiana shoots him a glare as Carol laughs.
