"Oh, yeah. Yeah, this will do. This will do just fine." Steve spoke while looking at the large space.
There was abandoned school bus, and several cars.
Dustin and Steve dumped the remaining meat into a pile.
"I said medium-well!" Lucas yelled. He stood next to Max waving at the three.
"Who's that?" Steve asked.
The look on Dustin's face as he watched her walk beside Lucas told them everything they needed to know.
"Come here." Steve pulled the girl to the side. She walked away from the kids with the boy.
"I don't know what the hell's about to happen. But do not, do not put yourself in danger." His eyes bored into hers.
She admired his tanned skin, brown, perfectly styled hair, and every detail about him. She only placed her hands on both cheeks and reached her lips up to his.
His hands rested on her hips. The kiss was short and sweet. As she pulled back she felt his grip tighten slightly.
"Promise me." His eyes had a soft expression. He l had a pleading look on his face. "I promise." She replied.
Steve smiled and placed a kiss onto her head.
Indiana looked around and saw Max standing all alone. She walked over.
"Are you okay?"
Max nodded. Indiana could tell the girl was gonna take some time getting comfortable around everyone.
"You can talk to me." She smiled.
"It's my brother, he's just an ass."
Indiana realized both her and Billy were new in town and arrived at the same time.
"Billy's your brother isn't he?" She questioned.
Max nodded, "Sadly.". Indiana chuckled at the statement.
"Did Lucas tell you?" Indiana asked slowly.
"About the monsters and the girl with superpowers? Yeah." Max nodded.
"Let me guess, you didn't believe him?" Indiana chuckled. Max nodded, "Maybe."
"I can assure you, it's all too real." Indiana shook her head.
After a few minutes of small talk, they all got to work. Indiana poured gasoline from the meat pile leading to the bus.
The boys and Max all rolled barrels over to the bus. Max and Steve got a latter into the bus and through the roof.
Dustin and Lucas placed scrap pieces of metal along the windows. The bus was monster proof by the time the sun went down.
"Let's go." Steve urged everyone into the bus.
Lucas climbed the ladder to the inside of the bus. Indiana peeked outside and saw the ground covered in fog. Great, that makes it fifty times more difficult than this already was going to be.
Indiana glanced down at her hand. The scar from when they fought the demogorgon last year was still present.
She swallowed before walking over to a sharp piece of metal. Steve looked at the girl. She inhaled deeply before dragging her palm down against it. She hissed as the previous wound was re opened.
"Hey! What the hell are you doing?" He asked rushing over. Indiana wrapped her hand with some fabric as blood dripped to the floor.
