Everything changed after the battle of the Starcort mall.

It had been eight months of grief and depression. Indiana tried her best to revive her life but it was difficult.  She had nightmares nearly every night of what she previously went through.

Nearly every night Indiana would dream that Billy really did kill her that night. Or that she was stuck suffocating in his grip.

Steve made Indiana begin counselling at the highschool when she stopped sleeping at night.

She didn't want to or enjoy it, she honestly thought talking about the loss of Hopper and her parents made her feel worse.  She couldn't talk to the counselor about her near death experience either.

Of course the government covered up what truly happened at the mall. According to the news, 'The Starcort mall burned down'. Indiana tried to live her life normally but quite a few things changed that she had to adjust to.

Indiana bought a home in Steve's name with her wealth. Steve and the girl moved into the house that was a few blocks away from her previous one.

Indiana being a senior in highschool and minor, was unable to take care of El on her own so Joyce took her in. The Byers and El moved to California, not being able to stay in Hawkins after the tragic events and losses. Indiana completely understood why Joyce decided to leave.

The younger friend group stayed mostly together, aside from Maxine who became depressed and pushed the boys away after losing her brother. She even broke up with Lucas as they started high school.

Nancy continued her life, doing long distance with Jonathan throughout her senior year. The girls continued their friendship throughout the months.

Steve got a job at a video store along with Robin. Indiana eventually grew a friendship with the girl after finding out the girl wasn't quite interested in Steve.

El would write Indiana letters and kept her updated on how much she enjoyed being a normal teenager. Unfortunately, El's powers never returned. Indiana would write back and forth with the girl on how everything was.

Hopper's cabin in the woods was still destroyed and untouched. Indiana didn't think she could return to the cabin without Hopper so she left everything the same.

Indiana sat in the car with Steve and Robin as he drove the two to school.

"You gotta stop pretending to be someone else when you're around her. You just gotta be yourself. " Steve tells Robin who sat in the backseat doing her eye makeup.
