The Blonde dropped into her nightmares.
She was back in the upside down.
The portal spit her onto the ground. It was covered in black living vines. There was no water or green. Particles flew around her in the air.
"Steve!" Indiana screamed. The boy stood up a good hundred feet away.
Red lightning and thunder came from the dark sky.
Steve was about to say something but a bat like creature flew towards him. The another. Another. And another.
They screeched as they flew.
Steve grabbed a padel from the boat and smacked the first one.
Indiana stood frozen in place. Maybe it was post trauma or maybe something was latched onto her feet not letting her move. Whatever it was Indiana was stuck looking around in slow motion.
"Indiana!" A scream ripped from Steve's throat. Indiana broke from her thoughts and raced over to the boy. A she got half way, one of the bat creatures wrapped it's long tail around Steve's throat.
He began suffocating. Indiana ran faster ducking at the flying bats. Indiana screamed as one of the bats flew straight into her.
She slapped it off and grabbed the paddle Steve dropped. She gasped as she arrvied. Two bats were biting Steve in the stomach.
She swung the paddle hitting the first one away. The the second one away too. The one strangling Steve screeched at her.
At last, Eddie, Nancy, and Robin arrived.
A bat grabbed Indiana from behing joking her just as it did Steve. Nancy and Robin began trying to help Steve as Eddie tried helping Indiana.
She felt her air leaving her lungs just as it did that day at the mall. It only made her pannick more.
Eddie tried to swing it around but it only took Indiana with it. Both the girl and bat spun in a circle before crashing to the ground.
Eddie finally ripped it off just in time before she ran out of air. "Go to hell!" She screamed. Her paddle hit it just in time before it flew away. It fell to the ground dead.
Steve spit blood from his mouth as he looked at Indiana.
Fear could be seen in all four of their faces. "Indiana. Where is your walkman?" Steve asks slowly.
She could die, nothing would save her now. Even if Indiana did go back through the gate she didn't have another walkman, or another tape of her favorite song. It was late at night, no stores were open or close by.
"There's nothing we can do about it."
"That's not true. Go back up and find the others.
"I'm not leaving you. Not like this..." Indiana looked at the bites scattered around his abdomen.
Indiana stated with a sigh. She eyed his stomach where blood and marks could be seen.
"Only took about a pound of flesh." She cringed. Before anyone could reply screeching came from the dead trees that surrounded them. Eight bats flew down in front of the five.
