The rumors had been gnawing at Georgie for weeks now. She tried to push them aside, to focus on her tour, her fans, and her music, but the doubt was there, lingering in the back of her mind. Every time she and Morgan spoke, the unspoken tension between them grew heavier. Their conversations had become shorter, more distant, and Georgie could feel the space between them widening with each passing day.

She had tried to keep it together, to believe that Morgan would never betray her. But with every unanswered question, every vague response, her faith in him began to waver.

Finally, she couldn't take it anymore.

One night, after her show, Georgie sat alone in her dressing room, her phone clutched tightly in her hand. She had been rehearsing what to say for days now, but the words still felt tangled in her throat. She needed answers—real answers—not the dismissive reassurances Morgan had been giving her.

With a deep breath, she dialed his number, her heart pounding as she waited for him to pick up.

When Morgan finally answered, his voice was warm but tired. "Hey, G. How's it going?"

Georgie swallowed hard, her voice shaky as she replied. "We need to talk, Morgan."

There was a pause on the other end of the line, a slight hesitation that made Georgie's heart sink.

"About what?" Morgan asked, his tone shifting, a hint of defensiveness creeping in.

"The photos," Georgie said, her voice firmer now. "The ones with that woman. I've seen them, Morgan. And I can't keep pretending like everything's fine when I don't know what's going on."

Morgan sighed heavily, the sound of it making Georgie's chest tighten. "G, I told you, it's nothing. You don't need to worry about it."

"That's not enough, Morgan," Georgie said, her frustration bubbling to the surface. "Who is she? Why are there so many pictures of the two of you together? Why didn't you tell me about this?"

There was another long pause, and when Morgan finally spoke, his voice was distant, almost cold. "She's just... part of the team. It's not a big deal."

Georgie's heart sank further. "Then why can't you tell me who she is? Why can't you give me a straight answer?"

"Because it doesn't matter, G," Morgan snapped, his patience clearly wearing thin. "There's nothing going on. I don't know why everyone's making a big deal out of this."

Georgie felt her throat tighten, her hands trembling as she gripped the phone. "It matters to me, Morgan. I feel like you're hiding something. I don't understand why you won't just be honest with me."

Morgan let out another sigh, but this time, there was no reassurance in his voice. "You're overthinking it, Georgie. There's nothing to talk about. Just let it go, okay?"

Georgie's heart broke a little at his words. She had hoped for clarity, for understanding, but all she was met with was distance. Morgan wasn't giving her anything—not the truth, not comfort—just vague reassurances that felt hollow.

"I can't just let it go," Georgie whispered, her voice barely audible. "I feel like I'm losing you."

Morgan didn't respond right away. When he finally spoke, his voice was softer, but the distance was still there. "You're not losing me, G. I love you. You know that."

Georgie closed her eyes, tears stinging at the corners. "Then why do I feel like you're slipping away?"

Morgan was silent for a long moment, and when he finally spoke, his words felt like a wall between them. "I've got a lot going on, Georgie. You do too. We'll figure this out when the tours are done."
