As Charlotte lay in bed, the cramps started getting worse. She shifted uncomfortably, clutching her stomach, wishing it would pass soon. Engfa had gone out to get more sanitary napkins since they had run out, but the pain was making it hard to wait.

She grabbed her phone and dialed Engfa's number. When Engfa picked up, her voice was a little breathless. "Hey, babe. I'm almost there, I promise."

"Please hurry," Charlotte said, her voice strained. "The cramps are killing me."

Engfa could hear the pain in her fiancée's voice, and her heart sped up. "I'll be there in no time, love. Just hang on."

Charlotte groaned, curling up tighter on the bed. "I need them now, Engfa. Make it fast!"

Flustered, Engfa looked around and realized she was still a few blocks away. She hadn't wanted to rush, but hearing Charlotte in pain sent her adrenaline into overdrive. Without thinking much more, she pressed harder on the accelerator, and the car revved up, speeding through the streets.

"Hold on, love," Engfa said, her voice now urgent as she swerved carefully through traffic. "I'm getting there as fast as I can."

Charlotte could hear the sound of the engine roaring in the background and smiled a little despite her discomfort. She knew Engfa was doing everything she could to get back to her, even if it meant pushing her car to the limit.

A few minutes later, Engfa pulled up to the house, jumped out of the car, and raced inside, the bag of supplies clutched tightly in her hand. She rushed to the bedroom, finding Charlotte lying there with a pained expression.

"Here," Engfa said quickly, handing her the sanitary napkins and sitting beside her on the bed. "I got the kind you like."

Charlotte took them, sighing in relief. "Thank you, babe. You're a lifesaver."

Engfa sat down next to her, concern written all over her face. "How are you feeling? Are the cramps still bad?"

"Yeah, but they'll get better once I'm all set," Charlotte replied, trying to manage a weak smile.

Engfa reached out, gently rubbing Charlotte's lower back to help ease some of the pain. "I'm sorry you're going through this. Is there anything else I can do?"

Charlotte shook her head. "No, just stay with me."

Engfa nodded and leaned in to give her a soft kiss on the forehead. "I'll stay right here."

Engfa stayed by Charlotte's side, gently massaging her back and trying to offer whatever comfort she could. The room was quiet except for the soft hum of the fan, and Engfa kept stealing glances at Charlotte's pained expression, wishing there was more she could do.

"Do you want some tea or something?" Engfa asked quietly.

Charlotte shook her head. "No, I just want you here," she said softly, leaning into Engfa's touch. "This helps."

Engfa smiled a little, relieved that at least she was helping in some way. "I'll stay right here," she promised again.

For the next hour, Engfa sat with Charlotte, rubbing her back and shoulders, trying to help her relax through the cramps. Eventually, Charlotte's breathing steadied, and the tension in her body slowly began to ease.

Engfa noticed her eyes fluttering shut. "Feeling any better?" she whispered.

"A little," Charlotte mumbled, half-asleep. "But it's still terrible. Stupid period."

Engfa chuckled softly. "I know. I hate that you have to go through this."

"I hate it too," Charlotte replied, her voice tired. "But at least I have you. You're the best, you know that?"

Engfa blushed at the compliment. "I just want to make sure you're okay."

Charlotte smiled weakly, her eyes barely open. "You do more than that."

Engfa kissed her on the cheek. "Rest, love. I'll be here when you wake up."

As Charlotte drifted off to sleep, Engfa leaned back against the headboard, watching her fiancée finally relax. Even though the day had been stressful, Engfa couldn't help but feel a deep warmth in her chest knowing that she could be there for Charlotte when she needed it most.

After a while, Charlotte stirred, her eyes blinking open. "How long was I out?" she asked, her voice still groggy.

"Not long," Engfa said softly. "How are you feeling now?"

Charlotte stretched a little, wincing. "The cramps are better, but I'm still so tired."

Engfa smiled. "Just take it easy today. We don't have to do anything, okay? Just rest."

Charlotte nodded, reaching for Engfa's hand. "Thanks for taking care of me, Fa."

"Always," Engfa said, squeezing her hand gently.

As they sat together, Engfa couldn't help but think about how much she loved these quiet moments, even if they came with the stress of taking care of someone. It reminded her how much she loved Charlotte—how every little thing she did for her fiancée was worth it.

"By the way," Charlotte said, her voice quiet, "I know you've been really sweet and patient today, but I'm still going to hold off on letting you get that motorbike."

Engfa groaned dramatically. "Seriously? After everything?"

Charlotte laughed softly, the sound filling the room. "Yes, babe. But nice try."
