Hastings

Toby's POV
One week after the incident, and my ribs still hurt. I've taken the week of school, not that mother has approved. She claims that its my own fault the quarterbacks attacked me. Im going back in today, only for one purpose... Her!

Spencer's POV
7:30, alarm goes crazy, I stretch, check my phone and drift back into sleep. Only to be woken up by my other alarm clock... My mum.
'Get up' she says
'your going to be late.'
8.30 I'm ready for school, I wait by the doctors to meet Aria. I haven't seen Aria since last year, as she's recently came back from Iceland.....

Toby's POV
I'm sat on the bus, daydreaming outside of the window, thinking of her.
'Can I sit here' I turn to see the ginger boy who hit my ribs.
'Do I have a choice,'
'don't get cocky with me mate, unless of course you want your other ribs doing.'
I choose to pretend he isn't there, remaining my thoughts on her.

Spencer's POV
Once arriving a school, Aria says she has things to do, hand in coursework to Mr Fitz. Thinking about it Mr Fitz isn't the ugliest teacher I've ever seen, in fact I'd say he was the hottest history teacher going. Anyways, Fitz a side my mind turns to the boy, i wonder how his ribs are, how he is.

Toby's POV
First lesson is a drag, history it is. All the girls clearly fancy the teacher, it's funny when you think about it, how many teacher, student relationships actually happen.
'Toby, when was the battle of Hastings?' Mr Fitz inquires
'Erm' I looked around the room, eyes staring at me left, right and centre.
'It was 1066, sir' the girl says as she enters the class.
'Thank you Spencer, your late.'
She's stunning, beautiful in every way.
'Sorry, had a doctors appointment'
you could tell she was lying but Fitz doesn't care. She sits two rows in front and one across, I can't keep my eyes of her.

Spencer's POV
I have to get to history but I have to set things straight with Ben. He's been a real jerk this time, In the past I've let him of but he's taken it too far. I'm pissed a him, not because he's offended me because he hurt that boy.

I turn left at the main entrance of school, cut through the main block and round the back of the science block, Ben and the quarterbacks always go there every Tuesday, avoiding maths.
'Spence' Ben says with disgust. 'Spencer, my name is Spencer. Only my friends call me Spence and since your behaviour with that new boy I know longer respect you in anyway!'
I look him dead in the eyes.
'I don't need your respect Spencer, why are you here, piss off!'
'you disgust me Ben, your a jerk, you all are.'
I turn an head towards History. 
I'm walking down the corridor when I hear Fitz asking history questions, History has always been my strongest subject, being a Hastings demands being good at everything. I stand outside the class for a few moments planning what to say.
'Toby, when was the battle of Hastings?'
'Toby' I murmur to myself. Everything goes silent in the class, I guess he can't answer the question so I fill him in.
'1066 sir' I add with a smirk and proceed to my seat.

Toby's POV
She's perfect,
I just can't take my eyes of her
'Sorry Toby am I boring you?' Fitz is stood over me.
I hesitate 'no, no sir'
'Good, now keep your eyes on the front, not on the ladies around you Mr Cavanaugh'
'Yes sir' I can feel my face burning up, I am so embarrassed.
'Class, I would like you to pair up for this next task, think wisely about your partner as they will be your partner for the rest of term.'
I look around the room, everyone starts moving, talking to each other. I know I am always going to be that boy that doesn't get a partner, that gets forced with someone.
I see Spencer get up. She makes her way to the girl in front of me, they swap seats and she sits, alone.
Fitz began
'who hasn't got a partner?' I raise my hand and look down in embarrassment.
'Ok, Toby and ' Fitz eyes search the room.
'Sorry, I'm late sir I was at a doctors appointment' I notice this was the same excuse as Spencer's but yet again Fitz ignores it.
'Aria, come in and get a partner'  Fitz and aria make strange eye contact but it's ignored by the class.
Aria makes her way towards Spencer, it's obvious they are friends.
'Ok, as I was saying before Miss Montgomery joined us' Fitz stops
'Girls stop talking' Fitz looks directly at Spencer and Aria then continues, 'Toby you will be partners with Mona'
Great, partners with the class geek I get up and move next to Mona.
For the rest of the lesson I sit watching the bell until finally it rings.

Spencer's POV
History is boring, so boring I have reverted to watching the clock tick by. I know he is looking at me, I can't deny that I looked at him a few times. But still the clock is more amusing than Fitz's dragging words.
'Sorry Toby am I boring you' for I split second I thought Fitz was talking to me, I look round to see him standing by Toby, i smirk to myself and turn around. Fitz had always made it so simple to embarrass people, he has a pure talent for it. In fact I've been at the receiving end quite a few times, but a least today it wasn't on me.
'Not on the ladies' I hear Fitz say, I take no notice and continue watching the clock.
Partners, having to get in partners for the term, god where is Aria when you need her. I swap seats with Lucy, simply because she has a partner. I mean I could have a partner,  Mona Vanderwaal, class geek or of course the one behind me, the irresistible blue eyed boy.
'Ok, who hasn't got a partner' I'm not putting my hand up, he clearly can see who has and hasn't got a partner, he's just being awkward
''Spencer Hastings, most popular girl in school and yet no partner''
that exactly what he's thinking, so I continue watching the clock, counting down the dreadful minutes.
'Toby and' It is tense, I sit biting my nail.
'Sorry I'm late sir, had a doctors appointment' I let out a sign of relief. Aria comes over to me.
'Thank god you showed up, where did you go?' I say as aria drags up a chair.
'I was talking to Noel, he stills thinks I like him, I already told him I met a guy in Iceland' she looks away.
' in Iceland aye! ' I hint my eye direction to Fitz.
She doesn't reply just a smile trying to be hidden.
'Ok as I was saying before Miss Montgomery joined us' Fitz begins.
'Omg, I am right.. There is something going on.'
'Spencer give it a rest'
'You know it's illegal, teacher and student tut tut' I laugh.
'Girls stop talking' Fitz interrupts.
'Getting told of by your lover' I whisper, then I remain silent to here who Toby is with.
'Toby will be partner with Mona'
I feel sorry for him, I mean who could have a fun term with geek Mona Vanderwaal. The bell ring and ivan out of there, of course Aria ''stays behind''

Toby's POV
I leave the class as quick as I can, I want to talk to her, I try to catch up but she's gone through the crowd of people.
It's strange, I think I am falling in love with this girl.
