Toby's POV
'Spencer wait' I run after her, she sits down on the park bench.
'Please just leave me alone' she turns away from me.
'I can't do that' I touch her arm she flinches.
' I don't know who you are and why was you at the hospital...' I can hear the desperation in her voice.
'Because we love each other. Spencer?' She faces me and reaches into her bag and pulls out the picture of me and her.
'Do you know what I see when I look at this' a tear falls from her face. I don't reply.
'I see nothing...nothing at all'
'I can help you' I hold the picture.
'No you can't' she pulls it back.
'Spencer..'
'I just want to go to school and live my life..' An idea springs into my mind.
'That's it, school. We met on the first day of school, if we relive it you'll remember' I thought back to what happened that day...
'I don't think that will work, sorry'
'Ok, this bench. Right here. It was the first place I told you I loved you and...and I said it in German and you look me because you understood me.' I knell on the floor beside her.
'I'm sorry, I don't remember you...'
She gets up to leave.
'Wait, there is so much more I can make you remember I just have to find it'
'Find what?'
'Where you truly fell in love with me' she half smiles.
'I don't...'
'All I need you to do, is trust me.' She nods.
I take her hand as a natural habit and begin running, she doesn't let go of my hand, I guess that's progress.
'Ok, this is the rosewood hills. I brought you out here on our first date' I sit down on the edge of the rocks. She sits Beside me.
'It's beautiful...how long did we date?'
'Well we had a few problems along the way but I met you when I was sixteen and I've loved you ever since.'
She smiles 'that's a hell of a long time to love someone' she looks out over rosewood.
'Not if they're worth it...' I smile at her. She turns to face me.
'But I'm sorry, I still don't remember...'
'That's ok. We will try somewhere else'
'OK' she puts out her hand. I help her up. She begins talking to me about little things, stuff that I already know but I pretend I don't. Just knowing that she trusts me, makes me know she's still in there. My Spencer.
'This is my history classroom' she looks at the chairs.
'Yes it is.' She laughs.
'Why here?' I walk over to what was her seat. I tap it.
'That's my seat?'
'Yes, sit.' She sat smiling at me confused.
I walked back to rows and one across and sat in my seat.
'Ok what now?' She spun around. The look that I saw in her face was that of what I first saw that day in Fitz classroom when I couldn't keep my eyes of her.
'So, a few days after we met you walked into my history lesson and answered a question for me. I knew from that moment that I wanted to be with you for the rest of my life.'
She laughs embarrassed ' you did. What was the question?' Her smile grows bigger.
'When was the battle of Hastings'
'1066' I see a flicker of remembrance in her eyes then again nothing.
'I'm sorry I don't...'
'It's ok.' I walk over to her seat.
'I know the perfect place' we leave the classroom and head to Spencer's. We talk on the way there, I keep it simple and let her rule the conversation.
'This is my house..' She goes to open the door.
'Yes, it is. But wait, what I want to tell happened out here.' She pulls her hand of the door handle and turns to face me.
'We was about to tell your parents about us.' She just looks at me, nothing is working.
'What happened then?' She grabs my arm.
'I asked you if you was prepared for the outcome.'
'Did I say no' she laughs.
'Yes, you did.' I open the door.
'Wait and what did you say?' She stops me.
'I said, I would be here no matter what happens.' She moves away from the door.
'I'm sorry, I don't think this is working.
'Me neither' I smile 'sorry spencer'
'Come in for a drink' she opens the door and gestures for me to enter.
I sit down at the kitchen table. She walks over to the fridge.
Spencer's POV
I open the fridge and stop, I want to remember. I can see how much it's hurting him. I look back at him.
'Orange or Apple?' I'm guessing if I remembered I'd know that answer.
'Apple please' he doesn't look at me.
The word apple sticks in my head.
'I'm sorry' I walk over to the sink.
'Why are you sorry' he stops me.
'I can see it's hurting you' he turns back to the table, I walk past him and look out the window
'It's ok...' I know It's not. I just know he's lying, deep down.
'It's raining...' I say spinning round. I hate the rain. He freezes, looks at me with smile.
Toby's POV
'that's is!!!' I smile
'What is...' She smiles.
'The rain!!' I grab her hand a run to the cafe.
The rain is fine and drizzly. The one that gets you soaked.
'So why are we here?'
'Ok, you was on a date with your boyfriend Alex. I was...'
'Wait I had a boyfriend between our relationship?' She pulls a confused face.
'Well you had about three' we both laugh.
'Talk about problems.'
'Anyway. You was in the cafe with Alex and I was in the cafe. I left the cafe and went to pack a bag.'
'You was leaving? Why didn't I stop you?' I could she see cared.
'I was going to leave, but then I realised that I wanted you.' I stop and look at her. She smirks. Her cheeks blush.
'So what happened?
'I came running back and...' Suddenly the rain started pouring I looked at Spencer she was still smiling. She looked up at the rain.
Spencer's POV
'And?'
'It was raining, heavy like this. You was here alone.'
'What happened to Alex?'
'You told him to leave...'
'Because of you?' I step forward. I didn't know him but I was drawn to him. It was the blue eyes. The beautiful blue eyes.
'I don't know. I like to think so.'
'then what?'
Toby's POV
I pause for a second and look at Spencer. I don't know if she was prepared for what happened next, I didn't know if I should stop.
'Then what?' She repeated.
'I came up to you.' I step forward. 'I grabbed hold of your waist and pulled you close to me.' She stares into my eyes.
'And then what' she whispers. The rain still bouncing around us.
'And then I lean forward and...' I lean forward to kiss her. She places her hand on my chest.
'Wait...!' I pull back.
I just look at her, I knew it. I knew it was too soon.
'I don't want to remember... What I mean is I don't need to remember.' I still don't say anything.
'I don't need to remember because I'm already falling in love with you.' She smiles. I step forward hold the underneath of her chin and kiss her passionately. She stops steps back looks at me expressionless then smiles.
'You're one hell of a kisser Toby Cavanaugh.'
'Spencer, you remember' i grab her and spin her round. I slowly put her back down grab her waist and kiss her.
