As Seventeen returned to their mansion, the atmosphere was thick with tension. The moment they stepped through the door, the other members surrounded them, eager for answers.
“Did she say something?” Dino asked, his voice shaky.
“Did she... forgive us?” Seungkwan added, eyes filled with worry.
Scoups rubbed his face with both hands, exhausted. “No, she didn’t forgive us... not yet.”
Hoshi, still visibly shaken, spoke up next, his voice barely above a whisper. “She knows now... knows everything. I told her it was me who lit the fire.”
Silence fell over the room as each member absorbed the weight of Hoshi’s words. Mingyu clenched his fists, and Wonwoo, usually calm, had tears welling up in his eyes.
“What now, hyung?” DKasked softly, breaking the silence. “What do we do?”
Scoups sighed deeply, looking around at his brothers, all waiting for direction. “We wait... and we do what we can to make things right.”
The mansion, once filled with laughter and warmth, now felt like an empty shell. The girl who had brought light into their lives was gone, and the void she left behind was unbearable. Yuri's hatred weighed heavily on all of them, but strangely, their love for her seemed to grow stronger with each passing minute, despite knowing that she hated them.
In Scoups' office, he sat with Jeonghan, Joshua, and Woozi, the tension palpable. They were deep in conversation, trying to figure out how they could even begin to ask for Yuri's forgiveness. Every idea felt like a dead end.
"We can't force her," Joshua said quietly, rubbing his temples in frustration. "But we can't just sit here and do nothing either."
Jeonghan leaned forward, his usual calm demeanor gone, replaced with a sense of helplessness. "She has every right to hate us. How do we make her understand that we never wanted to hurt her?"
Meanwhile, Jun and The8 were in The8's room, the weight of guilt crushing them both. The8, unable to hold back his tears, muttered under his breath, "It's all my fault... if I hadn’t..." He couldn’t even finish his sentence, the guilt too heavy to put into words. Jun sat beside him, silent, his presence offering little comfort as both were lost in their own thoughts.
Up on the rooftop, Hoshi, Wonwoo, and Mingyu sat together but said nothing. The sky was fading into the night, but none of them noticed. They just stared at the horizon, each lost in their own regrets. Hoshi’s mind replayed the moment he confessed to Yuri over and over. Wonwoo, usually so composed, was visibly shaken, while Mingyu could only think of how everything had gone wrong.
Downstairs, DK and Vernon tried to console Dino and Seungkwan, who were the most affected. Seungkwan sobbed quietly, his hands shaking as DK held him close, whispering words of comfort that even he wasn’t sure he believed anymore. Dino, younger and devastated, sat with his head in his hands, trying to process the reality of Yuri’s absence and her anger towards them. Dino cried in Dk's arm saying "Please tell her to come back my heart will stop beating"
They had finally understood what love was—how it meant more than just being together. It was like feeling Soulless without them. But now, that understanding came too late.
“She used to light up this place. Now it feels empty, like the heart of our family is gone. And the worst part? We did this to her.We never meant to break her. But intent doesn’t matter, does it? All that matters is that she’s gone, and we’re the ones responsible. That’s a kind of pain you can’t escape.”
