Finally, it was 5 p.m., and Yuri and Seungkwan were in the garden, waiting for everyone. Yuri had put a lot of effort into planning this gathering, hoping it would be a chance to get to know them all better. Seungkwan seemed casual, but Yuri was worried. What if they didn’t show up?
Just as Yuri’s anxiety was about to get the best of her, she saw Mingyu and DK walking toward them. Mingyu was dragging a reluctant Vernon along, who seemed more interested in his phone than the gathering. DK, on the other hand, looked enthusiastic, waving as they approached.
“Hey, Yuri!” DK called out with a bright smile. “I heard you were the one organizing this, so of course, I had to come!”
Vernon shrugged, stuffing his phone into his pocket. “oh hey yuri.”
Next, Seungkwan spotted Jeonghan and Joshua arriving together, with Jeonghan practically clinging Joshua onto his arm. Jeonghan had an amused expression, while Joshua appeared slightly puzzled.
“Yuri, this better be good,” Jeonghan teased. “I had to convince Joshua here that it was worth leaving his book.”
Joshua gave a small, apologetic smile. “I’m curious about what you’ve planned, Yuri.”
From the opposite direction, Woozi arrived, looking a bit uncertain. Seungkwan had clearly managed to convince him to join, and he gave Yuri an encouraging thumbs-up as he approached.
“Seungkwan said you went all out for this, so I thought I’d check it out,” Woozi said, offering a slight smile.
Hoshi and Dino approched practically bouncing with excitement. “I came because Yuri invited us! I can’t wait to see what you’ve done.” hoshi exclaimed
Yuri then saw someone walking towards her, holding his bandaged shoulder. It was Wonwoo. She smiled and went to him, offering her support.
“Thank you for coming,” she said, gently helping him.
Wonwoo gave a small nod. “I had to come; you called.”
The group followed Yuri as she led them to a beautifully arranged spot in the garden. A picnic area was set up with comfortable blankets and cushions, There was an array of delicious-looking snacks and drinks, all thoughtfully prepared.
As they took in the scene, Yuri spoke up, her voice a bit nervous but full of hope. “I wanted to do something special for all of us to relax and get to know each other better. I know things have been a bit... tense, but I thought this might help.”
DK clapped his hands together, grinning. “This looks amazing, Yuri! You really did this for us.”
Mingyu nodded, looking impressed. “Yeah, this is great. Thanks for putting this together for us.”
Even Vernon, who had seemed disinterested earlier, couldn’t help but smile. “I didn’t expect this, but it looks nice.”
Yuri felt a wave of relief wash over her. Seeing them appreciate her efforts made all the planning worth it. She hoped this gathering would be a small step toward understanding and connection, breaking down the walls that had kept them apart. As everyone settled down, she felt a renewed sense of optimism for what was to come.
