The house was finally quiet, the rare kind of quiet that only happened after the kids were asleep. You and Peter sat on the couch, tangled up in each other, savoring the few moments of peace. It had been a long day of chasing your two-year-old son, Tony, and helping your five-year-old, Ben, navigate his superhero obsessions—both boys exhausting in their own unique ways.

Peter’s arm was draped around your shoulders, his thumb lazily tracing circles on your arm as you leaned into him. “You tired?” He asked, though the smirk on his face suggested he already knew the answer.

You scoffed softly. “Of course I’m tired. I spend all day keeping your little Spiderlings in check.”

Peter chuckled. “Our Spiderlings,” he corrected, leaning down to kiss the top of your head. “And they’re perfect. Just like their mom.”

You rolled your eyes but smiled, enjoying the comfort of his presence. “Flattery will get you nowhere, Parker.”

He hummed in response, pulling you closer, and for a few blissful moments, the two of you just existed in the quiet together.

But Peter’s mind was always going, always thinking. And lately, he’d been dropping subtle—and not-so-subtle—hints. Tonight, though, he wasn’t going to be subtle at all.

“Y/n,” he started, his voice playful but with a familiar tone that made you look up at him warily. “What do you think about... maybe... having another baby?”

You groaned, turning your face into his chest to avoid meeting his eager gaze. “Peter, we already have two! Tony still wakes up in the middle of the night, and Ben keeps trying to climb the walls—literally.”

He chuckled again but wasn’t deterred. “I know, I know. But... just think about it for a second. A little girl. Our little girl.”

You lifted your head, giving him a raised brow. “A girl?”

“Yeah,” Peter said, his eyes shining with excitement now. “A mini-you. I’ve always wanted a daughter.”

You stared at him, the hopeful, puppy-dog look on his face making your heart soften, even though you weren’t entirely convinced. “You’ve always wanted a daughter?”

He nodded enthusiastically. “Come on, babe , think about it! She’d be perfect. I’d get to teach her how to web-swing, she’d have the best big brothers, and she’d be the toughest little girl around.” He leaned closer, his voice dropping to a more tender tone. “She’d be just like you.”

You felt your resolve start to crumble at his words, but you weren’t ready to give in just yet. “Peter, having another baby isn’t like getting a puppy. We already have our hands full with Ben and Tony.”

“I know,” Peter said softly, his hand gently cupping your cheek now, tilting your face up toward his. “But I also know we’d be amazing parents to another one. And I can already see it, babe. A little girl, with your eyes and your smile...”

Your heart melted a little more at the thought. Peter had always been incredible with Ben and Tony—attentive, loving, and so patient, even on the hardest days. The idea of seeing him with a daughter was enough to make you reconsider, but you still had your hesitations.

“You’re really serious about this, aren’t you?” You asked, watching his expression closely.

He nodded again, this time a bit more earnestly. “Yeah, I really am. I want this, Y/n. I mean, look at us—we’ve already made two amazing little boys. A little girl would complete our family.”

You sighed, leaning into his touch. It was hard to argue when Peter was this earnest, this loving. You knew he wasn’t wrong. Ben and Tony were incredible, and even though the thought of adding a third child to the mix seemed daunting, there was a small part of you that couldn’t deny how sweet the idea was.

Peter saw the softening in your eyes and pressed his advantage. “I can already picture her, baby,” he whispered, leaning down to kiss your forehead. “A little girl with her daddy wrapped around her tiny little finger.”

You laughed softly, unable to resist his charm. “She’d have you doing all her chores, wouldn’t she?”

He grinned, nodding. “Absolutely. She’d be spoiled rotten by her big brothers, too. Ben would make sure she had the coolest toys, and Tony—well, he’d be her little bodyguard.”

You smiled, thinking about the dynamic between your kids if there was a baby girl in the house. Ben was already protective over Tony, and Tony, despite his age, idolized his big brother. Adding a sister into the mix might just be the sweetest thing ever.

“You’re really not going to let this go, are you?” You asked, playfully narrowing your eyes at Peter.

He shook his head, a lopsided grin tugging at his lips. “Not a chance.”

You let out a long breath, feeling the weight of his desire, and finally, you couldn’t resist any longer. “Okay,” you said softly, watching as Peter’s eyes widened in excitement. “We can try for a girl.”

Peter’s face lit up like a Christmas tree. “Really?”

You nodded, laughing as his enthusiasm bubbled over. “Yes, really. But no promises! We might end up with another boy, you know.”

Peter pulled you into his arms, peppering your face with kisses. “I don’t care if we end up with five boys. I just know I want more kids with you.”

You giggled, pushing him away lightly but unable to stop smiling. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. One more. That’s it.”

He grinned, his eyes sparkling with excitement and love. “Deal.”

Later that night, as you lay curled up beside him in bed, Peter’s arm wrapped protectively around you, you felt a strange mix of excitement and nerves. The thought of expanding your family again was overwhelming, but with Peter by your side, it felt like the most natural thing in the world.

As you drifted off to sleep, Peter pressed a kiss to your shoulder, whispering softly into the quiet of the night.

“I can’t wait to meet her.”
