You lay on Peter’s top bunk, sprawled out on your stomach with your hand propped under your chin, absentmindedly flipping through a magazine. The small lamp beside the bed cast a soft glow across Peter’s room, making it feel warm and cozy. You could hear the faint creaking of the ceiling above you but ignored it, knowing Peter was probably up to one of his usual antics. Finally, curiosity got the better of you, and you glanced up, only to find him sitting upside down on the ceiling, as usual.
You squinted at him. “How are you not turning beet red from all the blood rushing to your head?”
Peter smirked, his voice light and teasing. “My blood circulation’s kind of like a spider's, you know? Comes with the whole package.”
You rolled your eyes, closing the magazine and setting it aside. “My head is spinning just from looking at you. How do you do it?”
Peter shrugged, but the movement looked funny upside down. “Eh, I’ve had practice. Perks of being Spider-Man. You should try it sometime.”
“No thanks. I like having my feet firmly on the ground, or bed, in this case.” You waved your hand dismissively, though your gaze stayed locked on him.
Peter chuckled, his smile widening as he looked down at you—or up at you? Perspective got tricky when he was defying gravity. “Hey, can I get a kiss?”
You sat up slightly, leaning back on your hands. “You’re upside down.”
“And?” Peter arched a brow, his eyes glinting with playful mischief.
You couldn’t help but smile at his determination. “How am I supposed to kiss you upside down? That’s not even logistically possible.”
Peter grinned wider. “Just try it. I promise it’ll be fun.”
Rolling your eyes again, you sat up all the way and got onto your knees, bringing your face closer to his. “This is ridiculous.”
Peter tilted his head slightly, his lips hovering just inches from yours now. “Ridiculous? Nah, this is an experiment.”
He closed the distance by gently grabbing your face, his thumb brushing your cheek. At first, it was just a soft, testing peck, as if he was trying to gauge how it would feel, how the angle worked. It made you giggle, but the sound was swallowed when he kissed you again, this time with more intent. The world around you faded as the kiss deepened, and all you could focus on was the soft press of his lips against yours. It was surprisingly tender for something so silly.
Peter’s hands shifted to hold your face more firmly as he leaned into the kiss, getting lost in the moment. But then—
Thud!
Your eyes snapped open just as Peter crashed onto the floor with a loud groan. He lay there sprawled out, one hand rubbing his head in clear pain.
“Oh my god, Peter!” You rushed over to the edge of the bed, trying to suppress your laughter, though the sound bubbled up anyway. “Are you okay?”
Peter let out another pained groan from the floor, rubbing his lower back now. “No. I think I broke something…my pride, mostly.” He squinted up at you, clearly trying to play it cool, but the embarrassment on his face was obvious.
You pressed your lips together, failing miserably at holding back your laughter. “You fell from the ceiling!”
“Shut up,” Peter whined, covering his face with one hand.
Before you could respond, you heard footsteps rushing down the hallway, and a moment later, May burst into the room, her eyes wide in concern. “What happened? What was that noise?”
Without missing a beat, you pointed to Peter, still sprawled on the floor. “Peter fell from the ceiling.”
May blinked at the scene, clearly trying to figure out how to react. “Peter, why on earth were you on the ceiling?”
Peter groaned again, still lying flat on his back. “I was just—ugh—kissing Y/n…”
May’s lips twitched, and you could see her fighting the urge to laugh as well. “You fell…while trying to kiss her?”
Peter let out a defeated sigh. “Yeah…”
May shook her head, finally letting out a soft chuckle. “Well, I’d say you’ve had enough acrobatics for one night. Try using the floor next time, okay?”
You couldn’t hold it in anymore and burst out laughing, clutching your stomach as Peter shot you a half-hearted glare. “Not helping,” he muttered, rubbing his neck as he sat up.
You hopped off the bed, crouching beside him and trying your best to look sympathetic despite the grin on your face. “Aw, come on, Spidey. Don’t be mad. It was kinda cute.”
Peter pouted, but the corners of his lips twitched. “Cute? You think me falling on my face is cute?”
You nodded, playfully poking his cheek. “Definitely.”
He let out a defeated sigh but couldn’t help smiling at you. “Fine. But next time, I'm webbing you up on the ceiling with me.”
“Oh, absolutely not,” you teased, helping him to his feet.
May, shaking her head with a grin, patted Peter’s shoulder. “Just be glad you didn’t break anything, kid. Now, go ice that back of yours before it stiffens up.”
“Thanks, May,” Peter mumbled, clearly mortified but still smiling softly at you.
As May left the room, you turned to Peter, still trying to hold back giggles. “So, wanna try that kiss again? But, you know, without the falling this time?”
Peter narrowed his eyes at you but couldn’t help smiling. “You’re lucky I love you, Y/n.”
You leaned in, pecking his lips. “I know.”
