The clock on your bedside table blinked 12:02 a.m., casting a faint glow across the room as you lay awake, staring at the ceiling. A pang of hunger gnawed at your stomach, mingling with an intense craving for something cold, sweet, and deliciously creamy. Froyo. You groaned softly, willing the craving away. But it only seemed to grow stronger, until finally, you rolled onto your side, glancing at Peter, who was fast asleep beside you, his curls falling across his forehead, lips parted, one arm sprawled across your side protectively.
You reached down and patted your belly gently, whispering, “Why now, huh? Couldn't we have craved froyo earlier? Not at midnight?”
Another pang hit, more persistent this time. You squirmed, trying to ignore it, but the thought of that cool, sweet froyo was all-consuming. You sighed, knowing you were probably going to need to wake Peter. He’d insist on going with you to get it, and you could already picture his sleepy, surprised expression.
Finally, you nudged him softly. "Peter," you murmured, stroking his shoulder. "Peter, wake up."
He shifted slightly but didn’t wake. You nudged him a little harder, trying not to laugh, even though a part of you felt terrible for disturbing his sleep. "Peter, c’mon. Please, babe, wake up.”
He made a small noise, a mumble of, “Mm… Spider-Man doesn’t need to fight more crime…”
“Peter!” You whispered a bit louder, and his eyes finally fluttered open, blinking as he adjusted to the dim light.
“Huh? What’s going on?” He asked, his voice groggy. His eyes slowly focused on you, and he seemed to realize you were awake. “Everything okay? Is it— is it the baby?”
“No, no, the baby’s fine,” you reassured him quickly, rubbing his arm. “It’s just… well… I’m really, really craving some froyo.”
He stared at you, his sleepy confusion turning into mild amusement. "Froyo? Like… frozen yogurt?”
You nodded, biting your lip. “I know it’s midnight, but I’m starving, and I can’t stop thinking about it…”
Peter stretched a bit and sat up, his eyes still droopy but a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “You really want some right now?”
“Yes,” you said earnestly, grabbing his hand. “But I didn’t wanna wake you. I feel bad about it.”
“Hey, no, don’t worry about it.” He yawned, rubbing his eyes. “I’m your husband; that means I’m also your official froyo-fetching hero, day or night. Can’t have you starving on my watch.”
You couldn’t help but laugh, and he chuckled, his hand still warm around yours. “Alright, gimme a second to wake up. And let’s see… are there even places open this late?”
He pulled out his phone, scrolling through a map app. "Okay, there’s a place a couple of miles away that says it's open until one. They have, uh, triple berry, mango, chocolate—”
“Ooh, chocolate sounds perfect,” you said, practically drooling at the thought.
Peter grinned. “Alright, chocolate froyo it is. I’ll get dressed and bring some back for my amazing, very pregnant wife.” He winked at you, sliding out of bed. "You stay here, keep that belly comfy."
You frowned playfully, folding your arms. “Peter, I wanna come with you.”
“But it’s late, babe,” he said, glancing back with concern. “You need rest.”
“I’ll rest better once I have froyo,” you teased, pushing the covers back. “Besides, I like spending time with my official froyo-fetching hero.”
He laughed and held out his hand, helping you up. “Alright, but only if you promise to wear my hoodie so you stay warm.”
You slipped into the oversized hoodie he handed you, the familiar, comforting scent making you smile. Once you were bundled up and he’d pulled on a pair of sweats, he held out his arm for you to take.
“Ready for a midnight adventure?” He asked, his eyes sparkling in the dim light.
“Let’s get some froyo.”

The streets were quiet, with only the occasional car passing by as Peter drove. You leaned back in your seat, rubbing your belly absently. Peter kept glancing over with a soft smile, clearly amused.
“So… what made you crave froyo?” He asked, a grin tugging at his lips. “Any reason?”
You shrugged, laughing softly. “Not really. It just… popped into my head. And then it was like I couldn’t think of anything else. It’s your fault, you know.”
“Wait— my fault?” He looked at you with wide eyes, completely taken aback. “How is this my fault?”
You leaned over, giving him a playful smile. “Because you got me chocolate froyo all the time before I got pregnant. I think I just… I miss it.”
Peter chuckled, reaching over to squeeze your hand. “Well, if that’s the case, then I’ll take full responsibility for your cravings.”
He pulled into the parking lot of the frozen yogurt shop, and the bright lights illuminated the small storefront, giving it a cozy glow. Peter parked, and before you could even unbuckle, he was out of the car and opening your door for you.
"Peter, I’m not that far along," you teased, rolling your eyes. "I can open doors myself, you know."
“Yeah, but you’re carrying our little froyo-loving baby. The least I can do is open a door for you,” he said with a wink, helping you out.
Inside, you gazed at the colorful selection of frozen yogurt and toppings, practically drooling. Peter glanced between you and the options, then raised his eyebrows. "Alright, what’ll it be?”
“Definitely chocolate,” you said eagerly, grabbing a cup and piling on some whipped cream and chocolate chips. Peter raised an eyebrow, clearly amused by the mountain you were creating, but he didn’t say a word.
Once you both had your froyo, you found a small booth by the window and settled in, the quiet of the shop adding a sense of calm. Peter watched you eat with a soft smile, occasionally taking a bite of his own, though he seemed more interested in watching you enjoy yours.
After a few minutes, he finally asked, “Is it everything you hoped for?”
“More than,” you said, laughing between bites. “Seriously, thank you for this, Peter. I know it’s a lot to wake up at midnight, but I just… I really needed this.”
He reached over, his fingers brushing yours. “Hey, I’ll always be here for you. And for froyo emergencies.”
