The heat of the day was unbearable, and after a long shift at work, all you wanted to do was head home and crash. The moment you walked into your cozy apartment, you kicked off your shoes by the door, and just rushed into your bedroom, sighing in relief as the cool air from your AC greeted you. You peeled off your sweaty clothes, and flopped onto your bed in nothing but your black lacy bra and panties.
The coolness of the room felt amazing against your skin, and you stretched out, letting yourself unwind as you grabbed your phone to scroll aimlessly. You could feel your body slowly relaxing, your mind beginning to drift into that blissful, lazy state.
It wasn’t long before you heard the soft click of your apartment door unlocking. You didn’t flinch or jump; you knew exactly who it was. Peter had a spare key, and he often let himself in when he knew you were home. You two had been friends since childhood, but now, after months of being together, it was second nature for him to show up early, stay late, or just hang around whenever he wanted.
You smiled to yourself, still scrolling through your phone as you heard his footsteps coming down the hall. The door to your bedroom creaked open, and you glanced up to see Peter leaning against the doorway, eyes roaming over you in appreciation. His familiar crooked grin spread across his face as he took in the sight of you lying there in just your bra and underwear.
“Well, hello there,” he said, voice playful, as his eyes lingered on you.
You raised an eyebrow at him, a smirk tugging at your lips. “Enjoying the view?”
“Very much,” Peter replied without hesitation, his grin widening as he stepped into the room. He didn’t even try to hide how much he liked what he saw. You were comfortable with each other like that now. There was no awkwardness, no embarrassment, just the natural ease that came with being together.
You watched as he took off his shirt, pulling down his jeans and tossing them onto a chair before he made his way over to the bed just in boxers. His eyes never left you, and the warmth in them made your heart flutter in a way that was both familiar and thrilling.
“Come here,” you said softly, shifting to make room for him on the bed.
Peter didn’t need to be told twice. He crawled onto the bed and immediately wrapped himself around you, his arms sliding around your waist as he pulled you close. His body pressed against yours, warm and solid, and you sighed in contentment, leaning into him. His chin rested on your shoulder as he nuzzled into your neck, placing a soft kiss on your skin.
“Rough day?” He murmured, his breath warm against your neck.
“Mmhmm,” you hummed, letting your eyes close as you relaxed into his embrace. “Just hot and exhausting. This feels a lot better, though.”
Peter chuckled softly, tightening his arms around you. “Glad I could help.”
You turned your head slightly, glancing at him with a teasing smile. “I mean, I don’t mind the view either, Parker.”
Peter smirked, his hand gently tracing patterns on your stomach as he settled in beside you. “So, what you’re saying is I should walk in on you like this more often?”
You rolled your eyes, but the playful grin on your face betrayed how much you enjoyed his teasing. “Don’t push your luck.”
“Too late,” he replied, pressing another soft kiss to your neck before shifting so he could look at you. His brown eyes were warm and full of affection, and you could feel the tension from your day melting away under his gaze.
There was something so comforting, so natural about the way you two fit together now. Peter had always been a constant in your life, but ever since you’d started dating, there was a deeper connection, an unspoken understanding between you. He knew exactly how to make you feel at ease, and you loved how he never hesitated to show how much he cared for you.
“You look cute like this,” Peter said softly, his hand brushing a strand of hair away from your face. “All relaxed and comfy.”
“You’re just saying that because I’m half-naked,” you teased, though there was a warmth in your chest at his words.
Peter shrugged, his smirk turning into a genuine smile. “Maybe. But you’re cute all the time, so it doesn’t really matter what you’re wearing.”
You laughed softly, turning in his arms so you could face him properly. Your noses almost touched, and you could see the way his eyes flickered down to your lips for a second before meeting your gaze again. “You’re such a sap sometimes, you know that?”
He grinned, unabashed. “Only for you.”
You leaned in, pressing a quick kiss to his lips. “Good answer.”
Peter smiled against your lips before kissing you back, his hand cupping your cheek as he deepened the kiss for a moment. It wasn’t rushed or urgent, just soft and sweet—the kind of kiss that made you feel safe and cherished. When you finally pulled away, Peter rested his forehead against yours, his thumb gently stroking your cheek.
“I missed you today,” he said softly, his voice laced with affection.
“I missed you too,” you whispered back, feeling the warmth of his words settle in your heart.
For a few minutes, the two of you just lay there, wrapped up in each other, the world outside your cozy little bedroom fading into the background. There was nothing but the sound of the air conditioner humming softly in the background, the feel of Peter’s body pressed against yours, and the steady rhythm of his breathing.
“So,” Peter said after a while, breaking the comfortable silence. “What’s the plan for the rest of the night? More relaxing? Or should I be worried you’ll kick me out?”
You snorted softly, shaking your head. “Nah, you can stay. I think more relaxing sounds perfect.”
Peter grinned, shifting slightly so he could lie more comfortably beside you, still keeping his arms around you. “Good. Because I wasn’t planning on leaving.”
You smiled, resting your head against his bare chest as you settled back into the pillows. “I figured.”
For a while, the two of you just relaxed in each other’s company. Peter’s hand absentmindedly stroked your arm, and you could feel the steady rise and fall of his chest beneath your head. It was peaceful, easy, and exactly what you needed after such a long day.
After a while, you felt Peter shift, glancing down at you with a mischievous glint in his eyes. “So, are we just going to ignore the fact that I caught you lounging around in nothing but your underwear?”
You snorted, giving him a playful shove. “Peter, you’ve literally seen me in less. Stop acting like it’s a big deal.”
He chuckled, leaning down to press a kiss to your forehead. “True. But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it.”
You rolled your eyes, but there was a soft smile on your face. “You’re lucky I didn’t throw something at you when you walked in.”
Peter smirked, his hand gently running up and down your side. “Yeah, because you love me.”
You turned your head slightly, looking up at him with a grin. “That I do.”
Peter’s face softened, and he leaned down to kiss you again, slow and sweet. “And I love you too.”
You sighed contentedly, snuggling closer to him as the last remnants of the day’s exhaustion faded away. “We should do this more often,” you mumbled against his chest.
Peter smiled, holding you close. “Anytime you want, babe.”
And with that, the two of you stayed there, wrapped in each other’s arms, letting the world outside slip away as you soaked in the comfort of each other’s presence.
