It was a peaceful Sunday morning, sunlight streaming through the curtains as you and Peter sat on the couch, your four-year-old son Ben playing with his toys nearby. You exchanged a quick glance with Peter, both of you knowing it was time to tell him the big news.

“Hey, buddy,” Peter called out, patting the spot next to him on the couch. “Come here for a second.”

Ben dropped his toy and hurried over, climbing up onto Peter’s lap, his little face full of curiosity. “What is it, Daddy?”

You smiled, placing a hand on your growing belly. “We’ve got something exciting to tell you, sweetie.”

Ben’s eyes widened, looking between you and Peter. “What? What is it?”

Peter grinned, giving Ben a gentle squeeze. “You’re going to be a big brother, bud. There’s a baby in Mama’s tummy.”

Ben blinked, his little brain trying to process the information. “A baby? In Mama’s tummy?” He glanced down at your belly, scrunching his face in confusion. “But... how did the baby get in there?”

You and Peter exchanged a quick, nervous look. Neither of you had fully prepared for that question.

“Well...” you started, hesitating as you tried to think of a simple answer. “Daddy put her in there.”

Peter’s head whipped toward you, his eyes wide in panic. “What?” He whispered under his breath.

But it was too late. Ben’s curiosity had been sparked, and he turned his full attention to Peter, eyes wide with questions. “Daddy, how did you put the baby in Mama’s tummy? Did you use magic? Or your Spider-Man powers?”

Peter’s face turned bright red, his mouth opening and closing as he tried to find words. “Uh, well... I mean... it’s... um...”

You couldn’t help but stifle a giggle as you watched Peter squirm under Ben’s interrogation.

Ben, completely oblivious to Peter’s embarrassment, kept going. “Did you put the baby in there with your web shooters? Or did you just hold Mama’s tummy really tight?”

Peter rubbed the back of his neck, his face now the color of a ripe tomato. “Well, buddy, it’s... it’s kind of complicated.”

Ben nodded seriously, as if he was getting to the bottom of a huge mystery. “Oh, so it’s like when you fix things with your science stuff, right?”

You bit your lip to keep from laughing out loud, watching Peter struggle to keep his composure.

“Yeah, let’s... let’s go with that,” Peter finally said, giving a sheepish grin. “It’s kind of like science, bud.”

Satisfied with this explanation, Ben nodded sagely. “Okay! So when the baby’s done in Mama’s tummy, is she gonna swing like you too?”

Peter let out a relieved laugh, ruffling Ben’s hair. “Maybe, buddy. We’ll have to wait and see.”

Ben beamed, clearly excited at the idea of a mini Spider power sibling. He jumped off Peter’s lap and ran back to his toys, already chattering about teaching the baby how to stick to walls.

Peter leaned back on the couch, letting out a long breath. “Thanks for that,” he muttered, still blushing.

You burst out laughing, leaning over to kiss his cheek. “You’re welcome, Spider-Dad. You handled that perfectly.”

Peter shook his head with a grin. “Yeah, let’s hope he doesn’t ask any more science questions for a while.”
