The soft hum of the studio surrounded Hanni like a comforting blanket as she stood in front of the microphone, a mix of excitement and nervousness coursing through her. She had been waiting for this moment for what felt like an eternity. The familiar sight of her producer, a seasoned professional with a warm smile, gave her confidence. He adjusted his headphones, nodding at her.
"Alright, Hanni, let's hear it," he said, gesturing for her to begin.
Taking a deep breath, Hanni closed her eyes and let the lyrics flow, each note infused with the emotions she had felt since that night with Minji. The melody echoed in the room, and she felt a rush of joy wash over her. When she finished, her producer grinned widely, clearly impressed.
"That was incredible, Hanni! You've really captured something special," he exclaimed, making some notes on his clipboard. "We just need to fix a few details, and we can start recording as soon as possible."
Hanni beamed with pride. After weeks of struggling with writer's block, she had finally found her voice again. The thought of the girl who had inspired her brought a smile to her face.
Later that day, Hanni met up with Danielle at their favorite café. As they settled into a cozy corner, Hanni's excitement bubbled over. "I have something to show you!" She pulled out her notebook, filled with the lyrics she had just written.
Danielle's eyes widened as she leaned forward, her curiosity piqued. "Oh my god, are you writing again? Let me see!"
Hanni handed over the notebook, her heart racing as Danielle flipped through the pages. After a moment, Danielle's eyes lit up. "Oh my god, Hanni, that's amazing! I'm so happy for you!" She scanned the lyrics of "Enchanted," nodding along to the rhythm. Her brows furrowed slightly as she read deeper.
"I really wanted to capture how I've been feeling," Hanni said, biting her lip nervously.
As Danielle read the lyrics, her expression changed to one of shock. "Wait, is this about someone? Who's the masterpiece you're writing about? YOU'RE CRUSHING ON SOMEONE?"
Hanni hesitated for a moment, then finally admitted, "Um, it's Minji."
Danielle's jaw dropped. "Minji?! The Minji? As in the model Kim Minji?! Are you serious right now?"
Hanni nodded, trying to suppress a grin while feeling flustered by the sudden attention.
"Oh my gosh, tell me everything!" Danielle exclaimed, practically bouncing in her seat. "When did you start feeling this way? Your crush on her is that strong that you're writing songs now or something happened?"
Hanni flushed immediately. "It's not like that," she protested weakly, though the heat rising in her cheeks said otherwise. "We're just friends. It's just... we've been talking a lot lately. She's just really amazing, you know?" Hanni replied, trying to convey her feelings without revealing too much.
Danielle raised an eyebrow, leaning back in her chair with a knowing smirk. "Oh, really? Just friends. So you wrote a whole song that's basically about her, but it's not like that?"
Hanni sighed, slumping into her chair. "Okay, maybe I like her. A little."
Danielle gasped, placing her hand dramatically over her heart. "A little? Hanni, you're basically a blushing mess! And now I remember how your energy shifted when she's around! It's adorable, really."
Hanni hid her face behind her hands, groaning. "Danielle, stop! I don't even know what I'm feeling. It's confusing, and..."
Danielle leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand. "Babe, it's okay. You don't have to figure it all out right now. Just enjoy whatever this is. But... don't think I'm not gonna tease you endlessly about it. You're crushing on Minji! I mean, come on, who wouldn't?"
Hanni let out a small laugh, shaking her head. "You're impossible."
"Impossible but right," Danielle shot back with a wink. "Well, good luck keeping this under wraps, especially when you hang out with her again. Don't think I won't be watching closely."
Elsewhere, Minji was sitting in a sunlit studio for a Vogue photoshoot. She loved the fashion aspect, but the interview questions were what made her feel vulnerable. Today, the questions were getting deeper than she'd expected.
"So, Minji," the interviewer began, glancing at her notes, "you've been modeling internationally, making waves in the industry. But people also know you for your confidence and charisma. Where do you think that comes from?"
Minji leaned back in her chair, thinking carefully. "I guess it's from learning to trust myself. When you know everyone is watching, it's easy to get caught up in what others expect of you. But I've found that when I focus on how much this is making me happy, the rest falls into place."
The interviewer nodded, impressed. "And how do you handle the pressure of being in the spotlight constantly?"
Minji smiled softly. "Honestly? It's not always easy. I rely on my family and friends a lot. Having a solid group of people who really know you—it makes everything more bearable."
The next question made her pause. "If you could collaborate with anyone right now, who would it be?"
Her mind instantly flashed to Hanni. She smiled a little wider. "I think I'd love to work with Pham Hanni. She's the coolest person I know, I haven't met anyone so passionate and dedicated about music. I admire her more than you could imagine."
The interviewer raised her eyebrows. "Hanni, the idol? Are you two close?"
"We're friends," Minji replied, though the word 'friends' felt inadequate. "She's got this energy that's just... inspiring."
When the interview aired, fans went wild. The idea of Minji, one of the top models, and Hanni, an up-and-coming idol, working together sent social media into a frenzy. Within minutes, their names were trending, with people speculating about the nature of their friendship.
Few hours later, Hanni was scrolling through Twitter when she saw the interview clip. Her heart raced as she read Minji's comment, staring at her phone in disbelief.
pham_hanni: "So am I that cool?"
Minji saw the tweet almost immediately, a grin spreading across her face. She quickly tweeted with no hesitation.
kim_minji: "You have no idea."
The fans exploded, they knew the tweets were related, and Danielle, of course, was quick to tease Hanni replying her tweet:
danielle_marsh: "@pham_hanni OMG, you're so cool now, Hanni!"
Before Hanni could think much more about it, her phone buzzed. A message from Minji lit up the screen:
Minji: "Hey, wanna hang out?"
Hanni: "Now? It's almost 2am. Are you crazy?"
Minji: "Yeah, maybe. But it'll be fun."
Hanni hesitated for a moment before her curiosity got the better of her. She smiled at the screen.
Hanni: "Alright. You're definitely crazy, but I'm in."
