First warning, I think this is gonna be the longest chapter so far, so enjoy!🤠

The car ride was quiet, but the air between them was charged with unspoken words and a sense of closeness that neither could ignore. The streetlights painted fleeting shadows across their faces as Minji's hand slid from the gearshift to rest gently on Hanni's leg. Her fingers grazed the fabric of Hanni's jeans, her touch light but unmistakably intentional.
Hanni turned her head slightly, raising an eyebrow. "Uh, excuse me? You're getting awfully comfortable."
Minji smirked, not looking away from the road. "What can I say? Your legs were right there, begging for attention."
"Yeah, sure," Hanni said, rolling her eyes but unable to suppress a small smile. "We seriously need to talk about... whatever this is. You know, this situationship."
"Situationship?" Minji repeated, glancing at her with a playful glint in her eyes. "Wow, so we've gone from being friends to a whole situationship now. What a glow-up."
"I mean," Hanni said, leaning back in her seat, "we're definitely not just friends. But we're also not—"
"Don't say it," Minji interrupted, shooting her a mock-serious glare. "If you say the F-word, I'm stopping the car right now."
Hanni laughed despite herself. "You're ridiculous."
"And you're avoiding the obvious," Minji countered, her tone softening. Her thumb began to trace slow, soothing circles on Hanni's leg. "Let's be real, Hanni. We can try to pretend we're just friends, but we both know it's never going to be enough. It's never been enough."
Hanni fell quiet at that, her heart skipping a beat. She hated how right Minji was, how the words hit her so squarely in her chest that she couldn't even pretend to argue. Because Minji was right—they always came back to each other, like two planets in the same orbit, destined to collide.
"So..." Hanni began, her voice trailing off as she tried to find the words.
Minji didn't wait for her to finish. Instead, she pulled the car to a stop a few blocks from Hanni's house, the streetlights casting a warm glow through the windshield. She turned off the engine and swiveled in her seat to face Hanni, her expression softer now, more serious.
Without a word, Minji reached out, cupping Hanni's face in her hands. Her thumbs brushed gently over Hanni's cheeks as she leaned in, her eyes searching Hanni's as if asking for permission. And then, slowly, Minji closed the distance between them, her lips meeting Hanni's in a kiss that was impossibly tender, impossibly warm.
Hanni felt her breath catch as Minji kissed her, the world narrowing down to just the two of them. It wasn't just a kiss—it was a promise, a confession, a thousand unspoken words all rolled into one. When Minji finally pulled back, Hanni's cheeks were flushed, her lips still tingling.
Minji smiled, her hands still cradling Hanni's face. "Be my girlfriend," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Hanni stared at her, her heart racing so fast she was sure it might burst. Instead of answering, she leaned in again, capturing Minji's lips in another kiss. It was slower this time, sweeter, as if she was trying to savor the moment.
When they broke apart, Minji let out a soft laugh. "Okay, that's great and all, but you're still not answering me," she teased, her eyes sparkling. "What's it gonna be, Hanni? Do you want to be my girlfriend or not? Because for the record, I don't kiss my friends."
"Is that so?" Hanni asked, a mischievous smile creeping onto her face.
"Yes, that's so," Minji replied, her tone mock-defensive. "You're the only exception, and even that's pushing it. I'm gonna need an answer before I start charging you for these kisses."
