TW--THIS CHAPTER INCLUDE VIOLENCE--PHYSICAL ALTERCATIONS, GUNSHOTS, ETC.

What the hell! Where did that shot come from? Everything happened in just seconds. After the initial startled reaction, I started looking around. I wasn't hurting, so I knew the shot didn't hit me, but then I noticed Ty jumping past me to whoever was behind. Daisy was screaming and holding her bleeding stomach.

I hated all this action around me while I had a raging headache, tied to a chair.

Suddenly, I heard another shot, and this time, Ty's body tripped with my chair and fell beside me. I could see his pained face. His leg was bleeding profusely, and that is when I felt those hands I hated so much keeping in my place to stop my struggle to get to Ty.

"Martha? What are you doing tied to a chair? What did these two degenerates do to you? Calm down, my love! I won't let any of them hurt you!"

I stilled, feeling his nasty breath near my ear. Lord, how much I hate this man! But I need to keep it cool!

I don't have a clear plan and don't know how this situation will play out, but I know that Typhon is not the Prez of the Fire Bringers for nothing. I bet he came here with some sort of plan, and he might have backup outside. If I can get him out of Dad's deranged path, he might stand a chance of getting saved.

Samantha deserves a happy childhood with her dad; I can't let my past destroy that chance.

"Oh, thank God! I was so afraid this girl had hurt you badly! Honey, how do you know that girl? Shouldn't you help her? She is bleeding bad!"

Daisy had gone quiet. She was alive; I could see her breathing, but it was evident the pain had her in shock. Daisy had pushed herself away from us and held herself against a wall. She was now inspecting Ty, who was cursing in pain.

"Don't you touch her asshole! Deal with me!" I admired Ty's will to fight but knew his leg was in bad shape. I was looking at his eyes, trying to calm him, but his intense gaze told me he would not let me sacrifice myself.

"Oh, I can definitely deal with you, but I had an agreement with the woman over there. And even though the two-face idiot attacked me, I am gonna let her finish you as she planned. I doubt she will be able to recover from that injury, so why not help her accomplish her final wish of dying in your arms," Dad grabbed Ty by his injured leg and dragged him toward where Daisy was resting.

Typhon tried to fight him off, but a kick on the leg was enough to blow Ty's strength out. There is so much blood; I hope he can recover.

I need to get Dad's attention before he does more damage.

"Stop, don't waste your time on them. Please just untie me, and that way, we can leave. You always said we shouldn't get involved in couple quarrels. I don't care about them, but I would love to hear more about your plans."

If I get Dad to focus on me, I might convince him to leave Ty alone.

Dad turns and focuses on me. I don't know where his mind is. Right now, he looks so high with tension that I don't know if I am talking with the escaped convict or the man so in love with his wife that his mind got stuck in the past, thinking I am her. Both are dangerous, but the insane widow will be easier to manipulate, at least for a while.

I just hope he doesn't try to touch me because I won't be able to keep my cool in that situation. Just the thought makes me hurl and vomit.

"Oh, honey, no! Calm down, I am sorry! I know you shouldn't be stressed in your condition. Here, let's get out of here. I have a cabin where we can rest before we drive to the border. Our baby girl will be safe!"
