*Your dog gets lost*

I sellotape the last 'MISSING' poster onto the dull post standing next to Wallmart and sigh heavily. My husky has been missing for two days now, which is nerve wrecking to say the least. It's like losing your phone, but five times worse. It's not the same without him.

He and I live in a small house in Kansas alone, due to my parents dying when I was young. Too young to remember them, which is a shame. I got told they were really nice and kind people.

But two days ago, I went on a walk with him and he ran off after some stray cat. Strange, because he's never done that before. I chased after him, but wasn't fast enough. I've not had any sleep since he ran away as well. Two days of no sleep... I miss him so much.

I walk up the wooden steps up to my small house and unlock the door, walking in and closing it behind me quietly. The house has two black and white bedrooms, a red bathroom and a baby blue kitchen which is all I really need. The furniture is all brown wood. The previous owners decorated it like this, and I see no point in throwing out more money for no reason. It's not like I have any visitors around here anyway. Plus I like the decor.

I slip my shoes off and walk into the light green livingroom, turning the TV on. I don't even care what's playing right now. It's more of a background noise. I lay down onto the soft looking pillow and close my eyes, just to rest my eyes for a few seconds. A... Few... Seconds...

~25 HOURS LATER~

A sharp knock on the front door jerks my body awake and up from the worn black sofa. What was that? The time on my watch says 2pm. Last I checked, it was about 3pm. Did I just sleep for like, a day? Oh, that's just peachy. What a way to screw up my sleeping schedule even more.

The three sharp knocks sound again like a piercing blow, reminding me that someone's at the door. I roll off the black sofa and groan as I land on the cool mahogany floor with a soft thud. That'll definitely bruise.

"Coming!" I shout and stand up far too quickly, making the room around me spin violently. Whoa. That's the lack of water I guess. I run my fingers through my tangled hair and moan in pain from the tangles. Well, that's what you get when you don't take care of any basic human needs for three days straight.

As soon as the world around me calms down enough for me to see properly, I sprint to the main door and swing it open wildly. It could be someone that found my dog.

A soft ball of fur collides with me, knocking me to the ground. The dogs wet tongue scrapes all over my face, making me giggle in happiness. My baby's back. Newt's okay. But I'll have a bruise or two from the impact. After all, he is a huge dog. And the floor's not exactly the most comfortable. But I don't give a shit right now.

I push myself up from the wooden floor and come to face with an attractive looking man. He looks to be in his early twenties, has sparkling brown eyes and a slight stubble. He's... Cute.

"Uh, I assume this ball of fluff is yours" the guy says with a chuckle and moves his hand to scratch his neck, a smile spreading across his face when he sees that the fluff ball won't leave my side. But damn. He looks... The man just looks so... I can't even explain it.

"Yes! Where did you find him?" I ask incredulously, forgetting all of my manners for a second. Holy fuck. My baby's back. And the guy's really cute looking and dorky. And I must look and smell horrendously.

"I'm (Y/N), by the way. If you don't mind me asking, who are you?" I add quickly, the cheerful smile not leaving my lips. He does a double take on me, assessing everything. And by everything, I mean everything. Not in the creepy way though.

"I'm Kevin Tran. Nice to meet you. He was curled on my doorstep, shaking. So I took him in and fed him. When I was on the way back from the store, I saw your poster." He smiles gently, sticking his hand out for me to shake. I don't hesitate for even a second. As our hands touch, it's like a current of electricity passes through me, making my widen my eyes in surprise. By the look on his face, he felt the same thing. Weird. Cliché.

"I don't mean to be too sudden, but would you like to go and get a cup coffee with me tomorrow?" He blurts out all at once, going a soft shade of red. A... A date? From beside me, Newt barks and starts waggling his tail wildly. Maybe I should. I mean, my own dog thinks I should. Not that he understands what we're actualy talking about.

"Sure! 1pm at 'Joes Cafe'?" I agree, a bigger smile stretching across my face. Sort of like the chelsea grin. Okay, that's a greatly big over exaggeration. But I just feel so happy right now.

"Okay. I'll see you tomorrow then, (Y/N)." he says softly, letting go of my hand. Just now do I realise we've been holding hands all this time. That fact makes my ears heat up, staining my face red without a doubt. A blush.

"Bye, Kevin." I say quietly and close the blue door, coming face to face with the hyper looking husky. "Well boy, mamma's got a date!" I squeal in excitement and drop to my knees to hug my dog properly after three days. But he smells of pizza.
