*You take Gabriel to your families dinner and he pretends he's your boyfriend*

"I'm so happy you two could make it!" My gran exclaims excitedly, embracing me and Gabe in a tight hug. I was invited to this family gathering and got told to being someone along. So who else would I bring along than my long term friend, the trickster?

I am fully aware that this isn't the smartest decision I could make, but he begged and begged until I let him come along. Plus, I'd have nobody to joke around with.

"And this is your boyfriend?" She asks, hope filling her eyes. She's the type who refuses to die until she has some grandchildren. Not that I want her to die, of course. But as an only child I have some sort of pressure on me.

But hold your horses. Gabe is not my boyfriend. I go to deny it, but Gabe smiles kindly and laces his arm around my waist smoothly. To a stranger it could look like we've done this a thousand times before.

"I'm her fiancé, Gabriel. Nice to finally meet you. Honey, you haven't told them about me yet?" And at that precise moment, I realise that bringing Gabriel along to this dinner probably wasn't the best of ideas.

"So, how did you two meet?" My aunt gushes, looking at the two of us with admiration. We're sitting next to eachother, surrounded by my entire family except my parents. They couldn't make it. And now I'm glad they couldn't. My father would kill me.

"We, uh... Well we-" I stutter, looking at Gabe with desperate, pleading eyes. He's the one who gave them the idea. Asshole. He should be making these things up and lying to them. Oh, he's gonna have it once we get out of here.

He smirks and places his hand on my knee below the table. Something you could notice if you were looking directly at us. Gives off the 'couple' effect.

"Well, a few years ago, I had the chance to witness something spectacular. When (Y/N) walked out of a bookstore a few shops down from where I was buying my groceries, she walked straight into a pole. It was quite entertaining to see her try and act like nothing happened. So me being the gentleman I am, I hurried over to help the poor klutz and here we are. Isn't that right, dear?" He smiles at me sweetly, emphasising the word 'dear'.

His made up story earns a few chuckles and I can see straight away that my family already loves him. I smile back at him, hating his entire existence and purpose at this moment. And since when does he use such complex words like 'spectacular'? Did he swallow a dictionary or something?

"You know what story we should tell them? The metro station one." I grin at him devilishly, grabbing his hand which has moved up to my thigh and setting it on the table. Two can play this game. And no, not Metro Station as in the band.

"We were running late to our date because someone clogged the toilet and while I managed to enter the subway safely, this klutz got his head stuck in the door. So me and a few other spectators were trying to pull him back in while he was shouting 'it hurts' over and over" I retort with the same word he used to describe me, earning more chuckles than he had. And as I look into his enticing eyes, I can tell that the war is on.

"When's the wedding?" My uncle asks enthusiastically as we walk out of the front door. Shit. Now Gabe's screwed. We've been making up ridiculous stories about us all night, seeing who can embarrass the other one more. Now that dinner is over, I'm sort of sad. As ridiculous as it was, I can't deny that it was fun.

"We haven't decided yet, but we'll let you know as soon as we do." Gabe responds with a smile, as if this all came naturally to him. Bastard.

"Well, thanks for the dinner, yet again" I smile and turn into the cold snowy night, pulling Gabe along with me. He's so dead. But I can't deny that it was nice to have him along with me. If I were to overlook the fact that he lied to my entire family, humiliated me and eat more food than all of us combined.

We get halfway down the street before his unexpected question makes me stop dead in my tracks. And in that moment, my face burns so intensely, it turns the cold snow into water. Something that's never happened to me before, seeing as I'm cold 24/7.

"I take that as a "yes Gabie, I will totally have the sex with you' for now" he jokes, pulling me into him and swinging his arm around my shoulders as we continue to walk down the street. His body heat keeps me warm.

Well, I guess I have plans for tomorrow then. And no, it's not having sex with Gabe. But I can't seem to miss the pride radiating from Gabe. After all, he did just manage to get me to go on a date with him.
