At the lab Brennen and Zack were working on their table thing putting together the bones of a dead person. You know as you do while Jack was using the computer. Zack said the victim had been stabbed 30 times and that the victims ribs spine basically showed this and had all been marked. Jack wasn't even doing work on the computer while Zack and Brennen discussed what the weapon could've been. On Jack's computer were photos of Angela and he was wondering who went to the desert for vacation how it was like having lunch in the dump. Zack got distracted by the photos but not enough that he still wasn't focused on what he and Brennen were talking about. He told her it had no cutting edge that it could've been a giant ice pick. They saw pictures of her in a bikini while Brennen was focused on the remains saying something about a screwdriver. While they seemed to have been worried about Angela covering up and not getting sunburn or Melanoma. And then they saw her kissing a man they didn't know Brennen who was completely focused on the rains told them that every year Angela went on vacation for 3 weeks with a boyfriend.

Jack exclaimed that playing house at a Bo-Ho chic artist cabin with her photographer boyfriend in the desert wasn't a vacation. Brennen would not be distracted by Angela and her photos she wanted to make sure the time of death was between 8 to 12 months Jack said yes maggots blah blah blah then opened a facetime chat on the computer he told her they were making bets on if she was using butter or Crisco as sunscreen though Angela didn't seem to be in the teasing mood asked if she could talk to Brennen privately she picked up the phone back in her office. You think I'm crazy don't you? She asked Brennen. She asked her if she was having boyfriend troubles already but Angela said she wanted to send her something but the sheriff would't let her turned out a human skull had been left in a box on his porch. How he thinks it's probably just the Native American locals that respected the dead but didn't want to get pulled into the white American justice system. But Angela was worried about her boyfriend Kirk and how he went out on a photography shoot 5 days ago and hadn't come back yet.

You think it's Kirk's skull? Brennen asked her. No it's fine Kirk usually goes out for days on a shoot. You're giving me mixed signals here. Brennen told her. Sorry I shouldn't had called. Pretend I didn't call. Sorry. I'll talk to you when Kirk get back. When Angela hung up Brennen was dumbfounded. It had been a day where I'd been working with them to see if they needed me to do anything for them checking in with my brother and seeing if he needed me to do anything and he said he would let me know but for now Brennen had packed a bag and was walking with Dr. Goodman and the other boys while he asked her if she was taking a vacation. Jack said he didn't get the attraction. Brennen told them she would be gone for a few days. Goodman asked her about the stabbing victim. Should I come with you? I asked her. No I can get more done on my own and you're not equipped for this kind of outing considering your brother isn't going either. No no you stay here look after your offspring do whatever they ask you to do or whatever your brother asks you to do if he comes to get you. Next thing we know she's in Angela's jeep trying to get the radio to work talking to her about the skull and Kirk.

I really don't think the skull is Kirk's you know but I just want you to look at it and tell me that it isn't so that I can just be upset with him for being a flaky artist. Angela told her before telling her they won't get signal out there that they were just past where Jesus lost his sandals. I take it that's your way of telling me that we're extremely isolated? Brennen asked her. Angela agreed before telling her that that's why they came out here that it was just you and how you stand still and the whole universe comes at you. Brennen reminded her it was 110* outside. Angela said their friend Dahni how she was the guide her boyfriend Kirk had been out with for this photography shoot and how when they got back from the shoot they were supposed to go get some beers take them out for some nachos. They then met up with Sheriff Ben Daws who was more than a little reluctant on having Brennen out there helping the investigation hm I wonder why that would be?! Angela was frustrated and rightfully so Ben was on the phone with local law in forcement Brennen explained how she worked with the FBI on murder investigations but Ben said he had enough searchers out there looking for the both of them and that the state police would send them a chopper if they got a smaller search area.
