We were down in the basement of the FBI I had no idea the FBI had a basement. Or their own morgue. Which was news to both Brennen and I. Through Brennen wondered why it was that they stick their morgue in the most depressing basement they can find. Which didn't really make sense to me. Can you find a basement when it's attached to a building? When you buy a building you can't say oh I don't like this basement can I switch it out for this one instead? I'm guessing the building came with that kind of basement plus even if it was depressing they're not home reinventors it's not a house they can't just say hey it looks depressing down here let's paint the walls a nice shade of blue and get some fuzzy carpet. It's not a kitchen or a bedroom her comment didn't make any sense. But my brother told her not to be a snob that not everyone can work in a fancy lab like her with a skylight. She told him that it was because society feels they need to hide death away and that the people who deal with the dead were freaks.

My brother warns us that the guy we're about to meet a guy named Harry was a bit twisted and when Brennen said the word titillated he didn't like her saying that. That she thinks he thinks she gets some kind of rush from her work. And well titillated is an odd words to use for what she does. It's also an odd word in general considering it has the word tit in it. When we pushed through the double doors into the morgue we were met with a man in a lab coat and bowtie looking over x-rays and I couldn't see why my brother thought this man was creepy. Seeley intro us to him before Harry turned to Brennen and said that he read her. Read her how? And then also said he had read her novel and loved the heroine was very agressive as he put it. After that Seeley directed us to the body that Harry had been going over a Ted Macy who supposedly accidently drowned but my brother told us that they investigate every death that comes onto Federal land. Harry told us that after his examination he discovered that the larynx was crushed and therefore not an accidental death. But then Brennen pointed out the obvious how this was a corpse with skin. She's good Harry sarcastically pointed out.

And because it still had skin on it Brennen wondered why she was here because according to her my brother already knew that she doesn't work with skin. Relax Bones I didn't bring you guys here for the body but for the thing in his hand. And the only reason my sister is even here is because Jason is paying her to basically hang out with us and do whatever we tell her to do. But now he grows impatient with Harry and wants him to show us the bone. He brought us a jar that had some kind of solution in it and red tape on it. What is that? We asked him in sync. He said the scientific name for finger bone before saying in a condescending tone that it was a finger bone and hoped that she would know what that was as if to say she wasn't very smart. Which made Brennen very upset and reminded him that any competent medical examinator would know not to decontaminate the evidence. And then asked if the solution was Lysol which he told her that was how he cleaned the bones but she got really angry at him as she drained out the cleaning solution wondering if he was trying to break down the bone membrane she used the scientific name I can't pronounce any of these words. Wondered if he was trying to wreck havoc on the marrow and asked if he even diluted it.

My brother tried to calm her down but it nothing pacified her. She told Harry that by doing this was getting rid any trace elements that would us catch the killer as she puts the evidence in a bag then asks him if this was his first day in the job he told her it would be 18 years next month she gives Seeley a look then storms out with the evidence and slams the door behind her making Harry think Brennen was intense as my brother and I say nothing. Which I find is probably for the best. While I thought she was intense she also wants to get her job done and solve the case. When the evidence got back to the lab and all the normal squints were there to help her Seeley decided that it was probably best not for me to be at the lab while she was in that kind of mood so he would have me do some kind of "busy" work at the office for me nothing too horrible like sorting files and shredding things or whatever easy work I can't mess up that he felt I'd be comfortable with and of course I have to keep my phone on me charged.
