Host 2 - Jamie's Story

Meet the crew

The long walk was quiet but, comfortable.
While jared and Mel kept making googly eyes at each other Jamie kept looking down on me who was only a head taller than me.

He must be thinking he's imagining the whole thing and I'm not really here.

I still felt really tired and my body was still drained. Noticing my slow movements Jamie stops and scoops me up into his arms.

"Jamie, what...?."
"You can barley walk," he cuts me off. The silence continued.

My parents always said Jamie tended to worry for me even when it was nothing big like when I fell over when I was 5, i had cut my knee. He panicked so much he held my hand while walking for the next week.

I wonder what they would say now. Would they be proud of me. The thought saddened me.

"Hey, you alright Em?," Jamie asked concerned. I looked up and nodded.

Looking around i noticed we had entered a cave entrance; only the entrance was like a garage with vehicles in here. There were men unloading two trucks. When we came in two people looked up.

"Hey Jamie, found yourself a girlfriend I see," he teased. Jamie ignored it and introduced us putting me down but keeping a firm grip on me incase i fall i presumed.

"Ian this is Emma, an old friend of mine."

He smiled and shook my hand.

"So your the one who pulled wanda's trick?"

"What?," I asked confused.

Mel walks beside me. "Wanda did the same thing. Walk in the desert hoping for someone to see us."

"Wait, us?"

"Come on, lets not confuse the poor girl, she just got here," another girl's voice spoke. She stood by Ian.

"Hi, nice to meet you, I'm emma."

Wanda looks at us then smiled and shakes Em's hand.

"Hi, I'm wanda."

Emma smiles back then looks back at everyone weirdly. "What?. If you trust her then I will too. I don't just go by looks only by character, if she's here and no threat then I'm guessing your on our side, right?."

Jamie smiles looking to Mel, Jared and Ian who all still seem surprised but, relieved.

"What's going on here?," An old man's voice reached our group.

"Uncle Jeb, this is Emma," Jamie says walking towards the man and looks to me. I slowly walk over to the kind looking man.

"Hello," I whisper.

"Look at you, little lady. Your all sunburned and probably hungry too," an old woman hit Jamie on the head. She looks at me and smiles wiping her hands on an apron.

"I'm Maggie and this is my brother Jebidiah" I nod and say hello again.

"Jamie, why don't you take her to see Doc and then head down to lunch," Jeb says watching me. Jamie nods.

"Come on Em, I'll show you around." He smiles and takes my hand taking me into one of the tunnels.
"Welcome to the family," Jeb adds before we disappear into the darkness.

Melanie's pov:
I walk over to aunt Maggie with the others following and looking at the tunnel my brother and Em just went down.

"That was weird," Ian states.

"I don't think we can trust her. See, no reaction whatsoever. Unless she's lived with hosts and not been harmed then she's not to be trusted."

Maggie hits him on the head and I chuckle. "Now, don't be rude"

"Lets give the girl a chance, i believe she's as harmless as Wanda," Jeb says smiling at Wanda.

"Maybe we should keep an eye on her just in case," Ian says.

"She seems nice and misunderstood. I think she is perfect for Jamie," wanda smiles looking at me.

I freeze at the thought.

"You dont have to look so worried. He's not a boy anymore. He can take care of himself, " Jared whisper's in my ear making me shiver.

"As long as she don't hurt jamie, I'm ok," i reply.

"I think its great Jamie has someone his own age around here, starting to wonder how he stayed sane," Jeb speaks looking back at the tunnel." Right, well unload the supplies."
