Host 2 - Jamie's Story

chapter 11

I woke up the next morning remembering yesterday's events. After the scene in the caves we went back to Working. Come dinner Jamie was his normal self and Danny and Lisa seemed to have talked.

I also remember falling asleep on Jamie's shoulder. When i opened my eyes i find myself back in our room but i wasn't in my bed and i wasn't laying on a pillow. I looked up and noticed Jamie's sleeping figure.

He must of carried me back to the room and passed out with me. The room was still a little dark and if he hadn't woken it meant it was early.

His arm rested on my middle and one on my shoulder while i hugged his middle.

His bed head made him look adorable. I started, absent-mindedly, stroking his hair and playing with it. He sighed and moved his head closer into my neck. I continued doing it until i realised this is bad. What if he woke up?

I pulled away which earned a moan from him. "Don't stop." his husky voice spoke. His breath near my neck. I wanted him so badly to kiss me. I mentally slapped myself. Not again.

I played with his hair for at least another hour when the Sun shone in the room. It was time to get up.

I tried to move away but he tightened his grip which made me chuckle. He fell back asleep a little while ago. I unwrapped his arms from me and getting off the bed. He turned over hugging the pillow. I smiled and put on some blue jeans and a white tank top leaving my hair down. Putting my black boots on bending over.

The bed squeaked and i stood up to see Jamie looking at me rubbing his eyes. Omg! he was so cute. I smiled again and sat beside him. "Morning, nice dream?."

He looked at me confused." You were very peaceful last night" he nods and murmurs a morning before putting his trainers on.
When someone walked in.

"Jamie" Jared says earning his attention. "We gotta go" Jamie nods and continues with his shoes. When Jared left I asked. "Where are you going?"
"I'm uhhh... Going away for a couple of days for supplies."

"What?! Why didn't you tell me?" I was sad angry and scared all in one.
"It's only for a couple of days"
"How long?"
"A month"
"Why didn't you tell me"
He looks up at me now.
"You have had things going on since you got here. It was never the right time"

"Who's going?" I whisper.
"There's me, jared,Ian and wanda. Mel usually goes but she has jack to think about"
I didn't hesitate in my reply.
"I'm coming with you"
He groans and stands up shaking his head."no your staying here where you are safe"
"No, I'm not a kid..."
"Em don't argue about This... Please. I need to know your safe"
"I am safe. And I can be. I've lived 5 years out there and I was ok"
"Em" he sighs crouching to my level and holding my hands"please... Do this for me." He begged.

How could I stand around and act like life is normal when the one I love is out there. I may never see him again. Wait?! Did I just say that. I'm in love with my best friend.

A tear escapes my eye and jamie wipes it away holding me close before pulling me to the docks.
My heart was beating loudly as he pulled me gently. I loved him. How was I ever going to say that to him.

The last of the things were being packed up as we came into the docks. They were all hugging mel goodbye with little jack in her arms. Jeb came into view and wished them a good luck his voice sounded sore.Mel hugged Jamie close and whispered a few things.

As the others got in the two vans jamie pulled me over to the door the van he was sharing with jared. "Take care of yourself" he said to me. I hugged him tightly again. More tears into my eyes. My hand in his hair and behind his neck.

"Come back to me" I whispered kissing his cheek and stepping back. He stood there a moment longer. "Bye" he murmured getting into the van. It hurt to know he couldn't make that promise. "Bye" I whispered waving lightly as the vans departed. The wall closing as they left.

The moment it did. My voice broke and tears came spilling out. Saphire, mark and harry came in to see me.

"Hey, are you ok?" Saph whispered holding jamie in one arm.
"I..."
I heard a bit of coughing and looked to jeb.
"Uncle jeb why don't you go lie down." As he nodded and left, mel came over and smiled. "Don't worry. They will look after each other. They will be back before We know it" she smiles again and follows jeb.

"Come on em..." Mark says wrapping an arm round my shoulder starting to leave. "Why don't you and harry mind James for me while I finish some things" saph suggested and I nodded taking a smiling harry under my arm. It was almost like we were a family again. Almost.
