Host 2 - Jamie's Story

Surprise

Emma's pov:

Jamie led me down a couple of tunnels and then came to an open space but, quickly moved down another tunnel so i didn't have much time to look around.

Finally, we reached the last tunnel that led to an area, I'm guessing like a hospital.

Still pulling me along with my hand he rushes in and calls out.

"Hey doc, you here."

A tall man stepped out holding some paper. Probably just saw another patient.

"Yea, what's up jamie? You've been careful with the tools right?"

Jamie sighs and looks to me.
"Doc, this is Emma, an old friend of mine. Can you help her out?"

Doc looks to me; observes me and nods leading me to sit on a table. Jamie smiles, standing beside me as doc opens a case with some sort of medicine.

"Wait isn't that the medicine the hosts use?"

"Yea it works really well, and since our medicine is gone we send wanda out to pick up supplies." Jamie says.

"You've seen this before?" Doc asks. I put my head down not replying.

"It's completely harmless trust me, saved my life," jamie assures.

I look at him confused but is moved with my chin to face doc and he sprays it in my mouth. A few seconds later I look in the mirror and I'm completely healed.

"Wow," I whisper.

Jamie still smiles and walks to me. "Thanks doc, see ya later," Jamie says walking away with my hand in his once more.

"Where are we going?" I ask.

"Lunch, I'm starving."

I smile "same old
Jamie Stryder" I say, he chuckles.

Soon we enter a medium sized room with food and tables. I'm guessing like a cafeteria.

Everyone looks up at me in silence, I stood there awkwardly until jamie urges me on, and sits me down on a table while he gets food.

There are only few people here so I'm guessing we are a little early. Jamie soon comes back with two sandwiches and apple's with some water. I ate the sandwich without a word.

I sort of got the feeling someone was watching so I turned and noticed Jamie still smiling eating his apple too.

"What?," I ask gently, smiling back.

"I just can't believe it. You're really here."

"Well, I didn't think I would see you again after you left..." I paused for a moment looking at the ground.

"Em i..." I cut him off.

"I heard what happened to your father..." I paused again looking at him. " I don't blame you for running but,... I wished you had at least came to warn me or take me with you."

"Em..."

I sigh. "It doesn't matter anymore, we were children, afraid and... Alone. Ofcourse, you had mel and I had my parents and my brother..." I stopped. Unshed tears were beginning to form so I looked away not wanting to brake down now.

Suddenly, there was shouting; two males of what i could make out. I got up and ran down the tunnel, towards where the voices were coming from until, i entered the centre of the cave.
A cavern.

Jamie was running after me to stop but, had to stop to take a breather. A huge hole in the ceiling with mirrors shining down on millions of wheat not yet ready to harvest.

In the mirror of the wheat two boys were shouting. It looked like it was about to become a fight.

One i didn't recognise. Jamie sighs from behind me. "Kyle picking a fight again."

" Who?"

"Ian's brother," he tells me.

I look back. I could see the resemblance with the blonde hair and all but i coudn't see the face of the guy he was fighting with.

He had almost jet black hair like mine, short hair like the rest. My hazel eyes wandered over trying to see this guy.

"And Who's the other?" I ask.

"Oh that's matt, he's been here for maybe two/three weeks now."

Matt."Did he come with a girl?" I ask.

Jamie looks at me strangely and nods. "His sister sapphire, just had a baby actually. It's strange because, there aren't many kids around. There was also a younger brother about 12; harry i think. Do you know them?

I nod, "They're my family."
