Host 2 - Jamie's Story

chapter 13

I found jamie in our room by the doorway. He was leant down against the wall. His knees to his chest. I sat down beside him without a word. He didn't move.

I pulled him in close and as his cries filled the room no words were spoken. I just rocked back and forth till he fell into a light slumber.

The next morning we woke up looking a mess. I didn't move though. I looked at his sad eyes with guilt. I had done it. I had made them sad. Another tear ran down my face and he wiped it away.

"Enough tears have been shed"

The next week followed out normally. After reading in jebs old office he figured out the basics of his new responsibilites.

Mel was finally out of her room and almost back to herself though her smile was rare.
I decided to stay with jamie through this time to support him. We were once again in the office. Jamie was going over supplies this time.

"We are ok for another week till we need to go the store. And everyones back into their working schedule. Everythings done."

I hopped off the front of the desk and went to his side. "Are you stressed. Do you need a break?" I spoke massaging his tense muscles.

"Shouldn't you be working,"he mumbled.
"I am. I'm helping you."
"You sat here for two hours doing nothing." He chuckled.
"My job is to take care of you" i whispered kissing his cheek again. "Come on," i demand pulling him up.

"Emma i still have..."
I stopped him with my hand.
"You are stressed. Stress is bad so we are going to have some fun"
"And what would that be?"
I pulled him into the cavern that is used for games and told him to wait getting some people.

When I got back i had jared, Ian, wanda, mel, Danny, max, Lisa and julie

"Whats going on?" Lisa asks .

"We are gonna play soccer." I said happily getting a ball." Ok jamie,Ian,mel,Danny and julie on one team and jared, wanda, lisa, max and I will be on the other. Go!"

The game earned a good laugh. Everyone was having fun. The game was two all and the team that gets the next point wins. The ball was off. Danny passed it to lisa. Lisa was tackled by max and fell. Max stopped to check on her as jared took the ball who was soon side tackled by mel and passed it to me. I dribbled the ball closer to the goal. Jamie watching my movements. I ran and as i kicked i fell straight into him winning a goal. People start cheering.

I hear a groan and realise i landed on jamie."oh, sorry" i mumbled squirming but when I moved i hurt him. Uh oh!

As i looked down on him, he looked at me. I don't know what it was. It was like we had a moment. I couldn't breath and yet i didn't need to. Our breathing got shallower and i looked down to his lips and back into his beautiful eyes.

"Awww"
"If they kiss, i'm gonna puke."
These voices snapped us out of our daze and I climbed off him rubbing my legs down from the dirt.

"Jamie stop staring at my friend," Lisa squealed. I turned around to quickly notice jamie was staring at my ass but looked away just as quick. I walked up to the group smiling. "Was that fun?"
Lisa and julie said yea and thanks leaving with Danny and max but the others stayed and didn't say anything.

Jamie now stands beside me. "Did that help?" He nodded a thanks. "I got more work to do. But i'll be back at the room soon. Its close to lights out," jamie states leaving.

Jared face palms himself, and ian shakes his head smiling. "His head really is in the clouds" Ian spoke. It earned a chuckle from everyone before they left.

After i made my way back to our room I laid in bed for about half an hour till i heard jamie come in. I felt a dip in the bed and an arm wrap around me. "Jamie?" I whisper.

"Go to sleep em," he murmured.
I sighed, he must be too tired. I moved further into jamie and sighed in content which made jamie's hold tighter. I fell alseep to peaceful dreams.
