Host 2 - Jamie's Story

chapter 10

Warning there are spoilers in this of the book.

After an hour of dishes i had a half hour break with being on kitchen duty. I decided to find danny.

Mels pov:
Wanda and I spoke about a bunch of dumb stuff like usual while watching Jack and doing laundry.

"Quite a bit of a tension at breakfast today huh?" Wanda starts.
I smile. "You're telling me. Danny lost it seeing his sister like that with max drooling over her."
"You know that's not what i meant"
"Ummm?"
"Jamie" she says as if its obvious.
"What about him?"
" don't stand there and act like everything's just peachy and you're still seeing little jamie"
"He will always be my little brother"
"Not the point and you know it"

I hear a thump and turn around.
"Jack, be careful sweetheart" i tell my child. I don't know how he does it but he seems to always walk into things and gets back up like nothing happened.

"How's my little man doing?" A sweet voice comes in picking him up. "Other than walking into things he's good" i chuckle at jared. He smiles and grabs me by the waist and missing me softly.

"It's sweet and all but please get a room" wanda teases.
"Already have one" jared says looking at the room.
"Yea ok" she sighs picking up jack and leaving us to it.
We kissed for a good while before lisa walked in.
"Lisa" i murmured pulling away."i wanted to talk to you"
"I wanted to talk to you too"

Emma's pov:
I looked in his room but didn't find him. Somewhere along the way i got lost and entered another cavern except this one was dark.

When i walked in i heard whispering and looked around the corner and saw danny and jamie talking. Illuminated by glow worms.

Jamie smiled and patted danny's back before danny stood up and left walking past me with an odd expression.

When i looked back jamie just sat there quietly looking at the glow worms so i quietly stepped in taking a seat beside him. He looked to me then back to the light.

"That was a dangerous stunt you pulled before" the whispering continued.
"Whatever do you mean" i say poshly.
"Em, i've known you for years and i know when you are trying to get Someone's attention."
"Ill go change then" as i stood up he gripped my wrist and pulled me back down.

"Where are we?" I whisper. He sighs and looks back to the wall.
"I used to come here when i was a kid. When i missed the outdoors. I haven't been back here in a while." There was silence as we both looked at the wall.

"I sat here with mel/wanda" i looked at him confused but he didn't look my way.
"When you wanted to know about mel and wanda's story of how you pulled wanda's trick.... Mel was taken after she tried to take her life protecting me and jared. Wanda was put in her..."

I continued to say nothing and carried on."mel told her how we saw them and showed her how much she loved us. Wanda wanted to help but was confused as to why she was doing it?

When she realised mel had taken control they were in a car accident. With no car they walked into the desert with no plan. Jeb found wanda and took her in. We didn't know that people could stay. In their heads i mean. We just thought she wanted to give away our position. There was trouble in the days that followed and then i cut myself startled by seekers looking near by. The infection spread into my blood stream.

Wanda saved me. She showed us how to remove a soul from a body without hurting another. And of course she knew she had to give back my sister. She wanted to end it. To die but no one would Let her. Instead we put her in another body. A body that was dyeing. The girl didn't wake up so the logical thing to do was put wanda inside. She's been like a sister to me and mel since."

I let the story be taken in.
"Why did you tell me this" he shrugs. "I don't want secrets between us." We were both broken that was obvious. We had bad childhoods and that made us grow up too soon. The burdens we carry are sometimes too much. I then decided in that moment, I was going to be his rock as he was mine. We will help each other.
I realised i was quiet for awhile and moved closer to jamie. I held him around his neck hugging him close. "I will always be here" i whispered into his ear. He sighs in content hugging me back.
