Host 2 - Jamie's Story

chapter 26

We were woken up by harry who seemed very cheery today.

He took us down two tunnels before we entered a a small cafeteria.

I got myself some bacon and beans and you could say this was pretty normal. The table long enough to fit us all.

Just as I'd finished I looked at jamie who seemed to be deep in thought.

"Everything ok?" I ask him.

"Yea, just a whole day in the office. Should be fun."

I laugh fixing his gorgeous bed head. "Well today I can find a place where you can maybe give me a special present for my birthday," I say seductively. Yep, today I was officially 19. Aren't I getting old.

"Sounds great, birthday girl," he skills and kisses me.

"I'll be in the room waiting for you tonight".

Someone suddenly, clears their throat. It was a young lad with two girls probably his age except the fact he was a soil. Miya stood beside them smiling at me before pulling harry away. A few laughs went round.

"Hey," one of the girls spoke.

"Hi," I reply back politely. Everyone looks up.

The girl squirms nervously. The other girl speaks up.
"My names Georgia and these are my friends Alicia and Tyler. Tyler and I are 17 and Alicia 16. We were wondering if you wanted a look around the place."

I nod. "Yes, that would be great thanks."

"I'll see you later, " I whisper to jamie kissing him on the lips before going after them.

Spending time wih these three were enjoyable. With them being younger they have me a fresher perspective.

I found the best place tonight and was going back to the room when I was pulled down behind a wait. I was shocked for a moment but jared put his lip over his mouth making me stay quiet.

He signalled me over to look. I was only with them 5 minutes ago. Tyler, alicia and Georgia were kneeling. Hands tied behind their back. That's when I realised the shouting and people were being dragged from their homes.

Oh no I thought. Guards lined up in front with guns held tightly to them. As they were moving around I noticed almost everyone was tied up too. The souls who switched sides including Tyler and Benjamin looked worn out.

What did they do to them?

I saw someone get up and run. A gun fire went off.

That's when I noticed mark and saphire were in the crowd too.

I stood up quickly on instinct but was pulled up back down. I looked and jamie had just arrived with harry. James held tightly in his arms.

Jamie silently moved and signalled to follow.

We were together.
Everyone but my brother and sister
I felt helpless. They caught my eye but looked away.

The seeker had her eye on them.
"Where is your sister?!,' she yelled.

They remained silent. The seeker was obviously agitated.

She pulled her gun up and shot. I froze. Covering my mouth with tears coming down my face hoping this wasn't real. Georgia went down and stilled. Alicia's cries were heard.

The seeker looked back at my brother again

"Where is your sister?!,' this time she aimed at saphire.

I couldn't breath. I couldn't move.

"They're long gone!," Miya spoke up beside Tyler laughing. "They're long gone by now. You will never get your hands on her. NEVER!"

A guard immediately brought a device out and brought it to her head

She screamed in pain. Ringing in my ears. I had to do something.

"Stop it!" Tyler shouted.

The guard stopped and hit Tyler with the end of his gun as Miya laid weak on the floor. What was the device?

"I asked him!," the seeker spoke. I went to rush over again but was grabbed back.

A hand covered my mouth. The person spun me around. Wanda.
"I have to help them."

"Seeker won't harm your siblings."

"But what about the others."

She was in tears too. She looked as sad as I did. " As long as the humans don't try anything she will have no reason to kill them."

" But what about Miya, Tyler, Benjamin...that device..."

There's nothing we can do for them. They're betrayers. The penalty is death," she whispered the last part.

"Why?!...why?!" I cry as she hold me. Pulling me out to the others.

We rush into a van with souls on our tail, we speed off.

I scrunched up into a ball in the back and cry. I felt helpless.

Mel held harry with James still in his arms. All looking with sympathy. Everyone remained silent as we fled.
