Y/n's pov
The bright rays of the morning sun gently hit my face, nudging me awake. I blinked a few times, rubbing the sleep from my eyes, and instinctively reached out to the other side of the bed, but Jungkook wasn't there. Confused, I glanced at the clock—it was already 9 AM. Realizing I had slept in, I quickly sat up, stretching a little before getting ready to head to HYBE.
As I made my way downstairs, something felt off. The house was unusually quiet, and no one was around. Normally, everyone would be buzzing about, especially at this time of the day. A wave of confusion washed over me, and then it hit me...Karan's threats.
My heart began to race, and panic started to creep in. What if something had happened? I frantically called out their names, running from room to room, searching the entire house for any sign of them.
When I reached the kitchen, I noticed a note stuck to the refrigerator. With trembling hands, I snatched it up, half expecting bad news. But as I read it, a sense of relief settled over me.
The note explained that the members had left early to go to HYBE because some issues still hadn't been resolved. They didn't wake me because I had been sleeping so peacefully.
I let out a breath I didn't realize I'd been holding and muttered, "Silly people, you nearly gave me a heart attack!" Shaking my head, I sighed, feeling a little lighter. But I still needed to be sure they were actually at HYBE, so I decided to go there myself. I hurried upstairs, grabbed my jacket, and headed straight for the garage.
Just last month, I had finally gotten my driver's license, so I was excited and nervous as I jumped into the car. Without wasting any more time, I started the engine and sped off toward HYBE, determined to find out what was really going on.
As I hurried into HYBE, breathless from running, I was abruptly stopped by Yullie. Gasping for air, I quickly asked, "Are they inside?"
"Who?" she responded, raising an eyebrow in confusion.
"Bangtan," I replied, my voice still shaky from panic.
"Yeah, they're in," she answered casually, clearly unfazed by my anxiety.
Ignoring her indifferent tone, I sighed in relief. "Thank God they're safe. You won't believe it, but I almost had a heart attack today."
"Why?" she asked again, sounding uninterested.
"Because yesterday, Karan came and threatened me, trying to scare me into leaving BTS. I was terrified he might have done something to them, taken them away or worse, just because I didn't listen to him. I've been a nervous wreck all day."
I expected her to show some concern, or at least pretend to care, but instead, Yullie smirked and leaned in to whisper in my ear. "Oh, poor girl. Maybe you should've just died right now," she said mockingly, before bursting into laughter.
I stood there, frozen, completely taken aback by her cruel words. "What are you saying, Yullie?" I asked, confused and hurt by her unexpected hostility.
"Nothing. Don't you want to go inside?" she snapped, her voice sharp. "Then go! Stop standing here like an idiot." She rolled her eyes and walked away, leaving me utterly bewildered.
Determined to focus on the more important issue at hand, I headed towards the room where I knew the members would be. As I opened the door, I saw them all gathered around, watching something on the large screen. My heart dropped when I realized what it was—a video of me and Karan, from the day he proposed. It was unmistakably me in the footage, caught by a camera angle that left no room for doubt.
