Chapter Thirty-Six: Sus, la poarta Raiului

"C'MON, we need to get you out of here,"
Rey crouched beside Nathan, gently shaking him awake. Nathan stirred, his face twisting into discomfort before his right eye began to slowly open.
"Aki?" He rasped.
"She's busy," Rey said, helping the younger male sit up. "She's creating a distraction so we can get you out of here."
Nathan lifted his head, his eyebrows furrowing together. "Leave? No. I'm...I'm not leaving without my sister."
"She'll catch up with us," Rey said, pulling Nathan, who was reluctant, onto his feet. "We need to get you back to the Sanctuary so that you can heal."
Rey could see how pale Nathan had gotten. Even after cauterizing the wounds, he knew it wouldn't matter after all the blood that he had lost. He could see that Nathan was disoriented, whether it be from his injury or from waking up so suddendly. Either way, he knew that if Nathan didn't receive some kind of treatment soon, it may be too late in the end.
"We can't just leave her here alone," Nathan winced. "Where is she?"
"I can still feel her presence," Rey said, grabbing his arm as he stumbled. "She's close by."
Nathan took his arm away from Rey, and after he took a moment to regain his bearings, he began to walk forward. Rey groaned softly and followed after him. He followed him through the forest, repeating his name over and over.
"She went by herself for a reason!" Rey hissed. "Come on, Nathan!"
Nathan held his hand up, making Rey roll his eyes. "Hush."
"I'm not playing this damn game with you," Rey snapped. "Either you get your ass moving or I'm—"
"Shut up!"
Rey silenced himself, his shoulders jerking with a scowl. He scoffed and walked beside Nathan, however, when he saw why, he was also surprised.
"What the fuck is that?"
Rey's eyes flashed across the creature in front of him. It looked like it had been some sort of animal at one point, but what stood there now was far from it. It stood around 190 cm, and was nothing but skin and bones. Its spine and ribs were visible through its thin skin, and the muscle were visible as it walked forward, its hooves tapping on the ground. The face was nothing but a mangled mess of eyes and teeth, and the antlers that protruded from its head were curved into a mock halo.
