A Christmas to remember (25)

Stellas POV

As the clocked ticked down on the final minutes of our last camp day before Christmas the palpable excitement could be sensed all around, as the scent of pine, peppermint and freshly baked gingerbread wafted through the air from the variety of crafts and baked goods we made with the kids that attended the camp today.

I put away the last of the baking supplies and stood up stretching out my back a little to ease the ache that had started from being stood over the sink, jumping slightly when I feel arms snake around my waist, but relaxing as I feel the familiar body stood behind me "KELLY...you startled me" I tell him as I run my hand along his arm, turning my head to look at him "what you doing in here?  Have you left Matt to put away all the skiing equipment again" I ask him as he shakes his head "no, we finished early today all the kids wanted to be in your class, they clearly heard how good your gingerbread cookies were" he tells me holding up a half eaten one that he must have took from the batch I took out the oven earlier to take back to the cabin for us all to share.

He takes another bite as I turn around and face him "that's one less for you later" I tell him as he shrugs "I'll just get you to bake me some more" he tells me kissing my forehead as he moves back leaning against one of the tables as I chuckle and shake my head.

"I'm almost done here just got to stack all the chairs up against the tables and mop the floor" I tell him as I go over to the cleaning closet to take out the mop, as I pull it out I turn around to see him already starting to stack the chairs on the tables "so you still on for our second, second date later?" I hear him ask me as I fill the bucket up with warm water.

"Of course I am, are we taking the boat like last time?" I ask him as I pour a drop of the floor cleaner into the water "yep, Dan has already docked it for me and this time it's got a full tank of fuel so we shouldn't get stranded" he tells me as I laugh and fake pout "aww, but that added to our date, getting towed back by Matt and him telling you I told you so over and over" I tell him as he shakes his head "don't remind me, he doesn't let me live that down" he says putting the last chair up against the desk.

I place the mop in the bucket and wheel it over to him as I pat his cheek "guess that teaches you, don't leave the motor running" I tell him as I chuckle and start mopping the floor.

"Should you really be doing that in your condition, are the fumes from the floor cleaner safe?" I hear Kelly ask me "Kelly pregnant women clean all the time, I'm fine" I tell him with a chuckle and continue doing the floor, stopping when I feel my back bump into Kelly as he's walked over "yeah well how about I do it whilst I'm here and you rest your little feet" he tells me taking the mop from my hands as I smile at him "won't hear me argue with that" I say moving out the way of him and going to make sure everything was turned off

"Oh one of the kids today made me a Christmas card" I say spotting the card hanging on the drying rack as I take it off and turn around to show Kelly "that's cute, where's mine?" He asks acting little offended as I laugh and hold the card close to my chest "the kids love me more" I tell him sticking my tongue out at him.

Once he's done finished mopping the floor he empties the bucket down the drain in the closet then comes over to me "go on then, let me see the card" he asks me coming to stand beside me as I show him. He takes it in his hand and opens it "oh it's from little Luca" Kelly asks me as I nod "yeah he's been my little mate following me around all day he first asked why I have a big belly like Santa and when I told him it was my baby he asked did I eat my baby" I tell him as we both chuckle "I take it you know of him then" I ask Kelly as he nods "yeah, it's Dans nephew he came here on Tuesday too, spent the day with me he's a great kid, asks a lot of questions though" Kelly says chuckling.
