Kellys POV

My eyes felt heavy with every slow blink I made to try keep myself awake, the morning sun had now fully risen and I didn't manage to sleep a wink, I was currently sat upright against our bed holding Summer in my arms as I swayed back and forth with her trying to settle her once again after she refused another feed from Stella.

I look over at Stella sat facing away from me at the edge of the bed as she expressed into some bottles to hopefully relieve the discomfort from her breasts since summer hadn't fed much.

"Shall I try changing her again" I ask as Stella turns her head around to look at me, her eyes looking as heavy as mine feel as she looks down at summer "you can try but I don't see how it will work, she's not stopped crying all night" Stella says as I turn summer around and lie her down on the bed.

I start to unclip the buttons on her sleep romper as I take out her legs, so I can get to her diaper, I open it up then hook my fingers around her ankles as I lift her legs up to remove the diaper from under her, as I lift her up she screams louder this time not hearing her exhale to take another breath as I quickly put her legs down and look at her holding her breath "ehh babe...I think I've hurt her" I say a little shaky as I place my hand on her chest and shake her to try get her to exhale, her face goes red as I feel Stella leap beside me to pick her up.

"What did you do?" I hear her shout as she taps summers lip and then blows lightly into her face causing summer to gasp as she takes a breath and continues crying "I didn't do anything, I just lifted her legs up" I tell her as she holds summer to her chest and bounces her making a shushing sound to try soothe her.

"You have to be gently with her" Stella tells me as she stands up and bounces side to side a little "I was!" I snap at Stella as I grab the diaper I just took off and take it over to the trash and throw it in.

I turn and look at Stella as she lies summer back against the bed and gets a fresh diaper from out the packet we brought in last night, she shuffles it under summer without lifting her legs up before fastening it and clasping her romper back up.

She swaddles her in her blanket which seems to soothe her as she just lets out little whimpers when Stella picks her back up. "She's not fed much, I think we need to take her to see dr Hilton" I say looking at Stella as Stella shakes her head "she's going to think we can't cope, it's only been one night, she's probably just unsettled, she has been through hell with me, labour is hard on the baby too that's what the books said, they also said the first couple of nights will be hard" Stella tells me as she keeps swaying with summer.

I hear our doorbell ring as Stella looks back at me "that will be shay, she said she would come round first thing" I tell Stella as she ignores me and keeps swaying summer "want me send her away and just tell her we're not ready for visitors" I ask as she look up at me and rubs her eye shaking her head "no, it's fine go let her in, tell her I'll be down in a second, after I've got her changed into fresh clothes" Stella says as she walks over to me and walks right past me to take summer to her room to get her changed.

I exhale and stretch my back out a little before heading down the stairs and answering the door to see shay smiling up at me, but her smile fading instantly "damn you look rough, dad life is really kicking your ass huh" she says stepping in "yeah it's rough alright, she had us awake all night" I tell her as she smiles sympathetically at me then holds up a gift bag "I got something for the baby" she says as I take it from her and close the door

"so? Where is she?" Shay says looking around as we head into the living room "Stella's just getting her changed, she will be down in a second" I tell her as I place the gift bag on the coffee table whilst shay sits down "Emily sent me a picture of her when she got to see her, she was smitten when she came round to mine yesterday, she told me she was so tiny and made her broody, had to break it too her I don't come with the facilities to give her, her own but I'll have fun trying" shay says as I chuckle a little "so things with you an Emily are going good then?" I ask her as I walk through to the kitchen "yeah I'd say so, we have fun, she's easy to get along with" I hear shay say as I grab two mugs "that's awesome, I'm happy for you...coffee?" I ask her poking my head round to the living room
